I have had the same experience - they never call back. And same deal, I sold the bag directly within a day of just letting my local friends know it was available.
In all honesty, I haven't had much luck with the big resellers. Ann's was a bad experience (similar to others); Fashionphile has only sent me hilarious lowball quotes; Jemznjewels I unfortunately did not find to be that nice of a person (sorry @Notorious Pink ); L'Ecrin not even worth discussing. TRR I would not consign to knowing what they are like to buy from and how they misrepresent items. I have had much more luck selling my bags directly or even on eBay.
I was afraid to use ebay b/c what if the buyer is nasty? Like deliberately damaging the bag and claiming it came that way. The listing's photographs may not protect the seller when a buyer has buyer remorse and will do or say anything to get rid of the item. How did you get around that possibility so that you chose to sell on ebay?

I will admit it's nervewracking, but I screen buyers pretty hard and I video the whole bag as it goes into the box, including sealing it up. I have been lucky and had AMAZING buyers, and I do like knowing where a bag goes.
Sorry for the OT!

Would you be willing to share how you screen your buyers? Do you have a specific list of questions or something? I'm new to the idea of rehoming bags and would love to start collecting tips on how to go about it.

Sure! It would be OT so I will either start a thread here or maybe start one in the eBay forum - which is a great resource for anyone thinking of selling (the forum also covers platforms like Tradesy, VC, etc.).

Please start a thread!! I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants to know. I have several bags to sell but I've been too scared to do anything based all the horror stories I've read :whut:

Awesome!!!!

If you have a chance, would you be so kind as to link to the eBay thread you’re mentioning? I’m on mobile and can’t search for some reason.

If you do make your own thread, would you kindly also link here?

Hmm, I had no issues with Madison Ave couture. We agreed on a price, they sent me a label, I had a wire payment the day the items arrived. When I called, someone answered the phone right away.

I do feel the offers were low based on what they have the bags listed for, but that's the price I pay for quick sale.

This is important. B/c DIY selling is an important alternative to resellers. Your experience is valuable, QuelleFromage, and I'm glad you shared it.

Good morning tPF!

Wanted to share my recent experience with the reseller Finklepuff in IG.

Overall - very smooth experience! Would work with her again in the future.

Once you see a bag you like, I will stress to you to make a deposit ASAP! She is a serious seller and no deposit, no bag will be reserved for you. I dragged my feet on this (nervous first timer!) and as such, the bag I wanted was sold to another person who made the deposit timely. My bad. She was able to source me another of the same (in better condition!) that I ended up getting instead. Deposit is paid via Paypal.

She knows all of the photos needed to be sent by Bababebi, and sends them timely. This was so easy, because I didn't have to go back and get more photos because she knows exactly what to send. Once you receive the green light on authentication, the remaining funds are paid via wire transfer. I was able to wire the funds to a US account, which was convenient for me.

Once the wire was received I got the bag in just two days time!! Super super fast!

I would absolutely deal with her again. For folks thinking she may not interpersonally be a fit, our communication was only over text. She is running a business and I thought her to be a good balance of business and friendly.

Nice to know!!! I follow her. What country is she located in (or where do the bags originate from)?

This is great to know. Given your experience, would you consider selling with Finklepuff/IG?

Maybe, that would depend. Since my bags were purchased in the US, so it might be better to sell here just based on exchange rate, etc.

As with almost all things, I never rule anything out! :amuse:
Hm good to know - i didn't consider you'd have to ship the bag to her in another country.

Do you know of any reputable IG sellers based in USA? I'm interested both to purchase a preloved bag from USA (avoid dealing with customs) and also have references for when I do want to rehome.
