Trusted Hermes Reseller Discussion Thread

Hi, I cannot speak re other resellers but I have dealt with The French Hunter - my item was 100% authentic, even my SA at my local H store loves it.
My previous post was deleted. As I said before, you should probably spread your positive review of working with the company, as information about them is scarce to nonexistent.
Also is the item 100% authentic Hermes item, or just 100%authentic luxury item, cause there's a difference. The language used for some of these resellers that are based on Instagram, legally is very vague and most likely would go in the sellers favor, shall an issue arise.
Just saying!

I'm new to this thread - recently someone on TPF mentioned using an instagram seller (@coco_approved) for rehoming bags. Said she had really great experiences (and that Fashionphile rips you off) but that seller is mainly for Chanel. Has anyone here used an Instagram reseller? What are the main resale options used these days? I don't need to rehome anything right now but want to know what I'd do if I wanted to rehome a bag since that factors into my purchasing decisions (and I'm looking at a few purchases right now).

Also, anyone know of any solid H resale brick and mortar shops in the SF or north bay/Marin/Sonoma/Napa area?

Thanks in advance!
I have had good experiences with Madison Ave Couture, but they pretty much only want store fresh bags at this point, so not as much for used.

I keep thinking I should start a resale shop, but then I think about how much time I don't have...

100% Authentic Hermes - based on seeing it in store my SA’s manager asked if I minded showing it to a customer who was in store to place a SO as she didn’t have any pieces in store in a smooth leather to show her.
I only purchase brand new, work for a French bank and am fluent in French visiting Paris two to three times a year.
I suggest if anyone is not comfortable buying from a reseller - don’t - everyone has different experiences and ultimately its your own peace of mind.

Thanks for your bio. As I said, you might want to share your experience with that particular reseller as reviews and information about them is scarce to nonexistent.
Obviously one has a choice when purchasing anything from anyone, however when dealing with a brand that doesn't just have particular items waiting on the shelves to be purchased by the masses, one resorts to resellers if they so chose. Also if someone has for the most part good reviews, you're naturally going to assume you can trust that person. Especially when you're paying 18k for a product. As you stated everyone has different experiences, and I've stated mine.

I have and just judging by the hardware on the bag, screws that were clearly hammered in and not pearled...I'm thinking the bag is a fake, also what I would say is dried glue along some seems where the handles are.
I'm in the process of having the bag authenticated in person, not photos sent via email.
Also, a lot of their posts on Instagram are photos taken from The French Hunter page. However, if you Google The French Hunter, it is a leather goods company with a Hong Kong address. So, this as others have suspected MUST be some superfake supplier based out of China.

45min update, now that business address, search result is gone. Will send screenshot, just DM.
I have dealt with and sold purses to Prive Porter. I can tell you from personal experience that they are professional to the letter and are one of the largest resellers of very high end Hermes bags in the world, and also sold the most expensive birkin ever at auction. If anybody is stealing photos, then they would be stolen from them and not vice versa.

Perhaps they are affiliated with one another, because based on the photos I've uploaded, PP clearly takes photos from TFH. Or maybe PP has bought items to resell from them, but your firm statement about PP never taken photos is wrong. TFH has what I would say is a signature photo style, which is EASY to recognize. You be the judge!
Also based on the information I found on this very site regarding TFH, people concluded it was possibly not a reliable resell source due to "inconsistencies", which is why I said repeatedly to the person that alledge to have had a good experience with them to be more vocal about it.

Not sure if this is the right place to post; I've tried searching the threads but haven't found any specific information that would help answer my questions.

What has been everyone's experience with purchasing from the Christie's auctions? I'm aware there's a buyer's premium of 25% and your own country's sales tax will apply. The lots have a "cost calculator" function that includes costs of loss, damage, and liability and shipping. I was just curious if anyone had a ballpark figure/ or an idea of what the costs were. Thanks!

I have purchased two bags from Christies. The first experience was fine - the condition was as described, and I got a good price. The second experience was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had with a luxury purchase - they did not disclose that the bag in question was one of the ones affected by the skunk leather smell and the ensuing back and forth was so appalling that I will not do business with them in any of their departments anymore.
My general advice when purchasing from auction sites is to ask a lot of questions about the condition, smells, etc. in writing (email is fine) and, if you can, go to their showroom to see the bag in person before bidding. Most major auction houses will have a condition statement in the listing, but the terms of sale usually state that the items are being sold "as is" with no returns allowed, so you have very little recourse if there is an issue with the item.

Hello! Happy new year. Hope you’re well. Sending this message as precautions in case you’re having any forms of transactions with the reseller @finklepuff.

  1. I bought a bag from this reseller @finklepuff a year ago and decided to go through her as a reseller to sell off my bag.
  2. There was an interested buyer but the price was lower than my preferred price hence I declined politely. In any form of business transactions, I believe the seller has the right to set pricing that they desire.
  3. Thereafter I asked for updates three times, she did not respond first two times, but finally did today.
  4. What I did not expect from a professional reseller was to receive rude and hostile remarks. I believe in sales/ customer service, there’s a better form of communication, to speak and treat people with respect.
  5. I did not know she’s on holidays until she told me. It’s not my obligation to keep track of her schedules. It’s an accusation to be described as not respecting her time.
  6. I fully respect she’s not interested to resell the bag anymore. There’s a better way of declining instead of falsely accusing me as “inconsiderate” and do not “respect”, as well as such unfriendly responses.

Whilst she has good ranges of bags, but I would strongly not recommend to anyone due to such hostile, rude and condescending responses.

Does anyone have experience with glamshock from ebay?
I don't know if someone has answered your question yet. But I have done buying one Chanel Purse with them and it turned out not authentic one. I also keep the pictures to make a comparison, even tho they have numerous positive feedback on eb, and some of Ig-ers I followed mentioned them sometimes that made me quite confident trusting their business.

my sister is on the hunt for a new noir birkin 25 on the resale market and i'm trying to help her find a reasonably priced one. whenever i browse on fashionphile or similarly janefinds, new black birkin 25s with gold hardware are always priced significantly higher than those with palladium hardware. is it because gold hardware is harder to come by in general so consignment shops factor in that premium? Just wondering what warrants the $3-4k markup/difference on a B25 w/gold hardware vs B25 w/palladium (and both marked as "new" condition)....

Hi all. I've bought and sold with The RealReal for a few years with overall mixed results. However, they just gave me the best estimate I've received on an expensive (exotic) Birkin. I was all set to send it in to their NYC store (where they will look over and guarantee me the listing price BEFORE i have to commit), but I'm all of a sudden getting cold feet. I don't like the idea of a lot of people handling my bag, and I don't like the plastic bands they put on the handles (I've received bags with them that have left indentations). Anyone here have experience consigning such an expensive bag with them? If I don't go through them, I'm likely to get much less for it.

Thanks!
