I don't know any SA in SF store but one time I walked in there around closing time, I asked DH about a garden party on display and then a SA promptly asked if I wanted to see it. I politely declined and moved on to something else and she was again very kind to ask if I needed help. I was very surprised that the SA was so nice and attentive, especially to a random walk in around closing time! So I am sure there are good SAs there.

And tomorrow will be the first time ever that I am meeting my SA who reserved a GP for me through the phone... Wish me luck [emoji16]
Congrats! I am sure you will be very happy with their (SF Boutique) service and sounds like you have already found yourself a great SA...Pleas do a reveal or post in the new purchase thread upon getting your GP. :hugs:

My 1st visit to an hermes store: wore old, faded jeans & birkenstock shoes.
Was treated with so much care & respect.
Was shown bags, housewares, furniture, etc.
Was told about company & goods. And about artists, philanthropic projects.
Was taught several new ways to tie scarves. Then given couple boxes of knotting cards.
Sa shook my hand & thanked me by name.

I imagine some clerks might be snotty personalities.
And some customers might be attention seeking jerks.
But, my experiences have been pleasant.

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to post my first time experience of visiting the San Francisco Hermes Boutique yesterday. I was there around 2 p.m. and the store was a bit busy. I walked in with the intent to purchase a fine jewelry bracelet and a scarf because I love their scarves, they are beautiful and I love their diamond bracelets. I was dressed nicely (with my chanel shoes, chanel classic double flap bag) however I got zero response from anyone there. Not even a hello? I was like really? I read the reviews and I knew that they can be a little snobby but this was just downright rude:pout: Just had to post that. I will never be visiting them again ever!

Hi, ilovemykiddos (very cute name!) :smile1:

SF is my home store. I have been shopping there for about 2 years now (give or take), I walked in as a new buyer to H with only an online history.

Your experience there was unfortunate, but I do urge you to give them another chance. I have only had amazing experiences with them so far, my SA is exceptional, and all of the other SAs have been welcoming and friendly too. I was actually surprised at how smoothly my first shopping trip with them went, it did help that my SA was new to H also, so we kind of grew together with a love of Hermes. If you would like a referral I would be happy to give you one!

My suggestion would be to shop on a weekday (if possible) and not near closing time or lunch time (after 3 or before noon is good). If you are a local client try to stop in every couple of weeks, or once a month, so that you get to know your SA and they get to know you. If you do not connect with my SA and want to try again on you own, it's ok to be a bit assertive (approach any SA who is not busy), don't let the aura of H make you nervous or intimidated. You know what you want, and have every right to great service. Smile, be patient, and direct, hopefully this will give you a better start.

I'm really sorry that your first trip there wasn't at all what you expected, but trust me when I say that it can be one of the friendliest stores. I don't think that I am completely alone on this! I have referred a few friends and they all had a similarly rewarding experience.

Best of luck! And please update us on your next visit! :hugs:

I do almost all my shopping over the phone with an SA on the other side of the country, although I live a few miles from my local boutique. We've never met; she was referred to me years ago and we've formed an extraordinarily close relationship. Recently, I emailed a letter of gratitude to Corporate, praising her singular service. Just passing on an idea for those of us who value the service our favorite SAs provide.

Are you located in the US? At my boutique you have to pay for the item in person in the store, even if you have it shipped. I guess this rule can be bent though as is often the case with Hermes

Yes, I am and you are correct. I think it depends on the SM and the relationship one has built over time.
I would agree with werner above. I also do all my Hermès shopping with a boutique located out of my home state. I have a great relationship with the SA there. I can pay over the phone for most items, but for B or K they must be paid for and collected in store. Everything I've purchased has been shipped directly to me with no problem and I receive them in about 2-3 business days.

I have friends that shop there. Some love it, but most only shop there bc there is no other option. I hear complaints about SA's never taking the time to learn what clients love. Never calling them when wishlist items arrive. Others have decided they would rather fly to another boutique than shop at SF. I'm not surprised to hear bad experience from that store. I think u are making the right decision to take your business elsewhere. If you purchase those items at another boutique, you will be a big hit and probably get a bag... but never at SF. Just sharing what I have heard.... :flowers:

I have heard the exact same thing. I would find another store or ask for SA recommendations for another store that you would be likely to visit. I have a wonderful SA but I am in SoCal.

SF is my home store too. I've experienced it all- waiting for an eternity to even be acknowledged, to now getting hugs when I walk in the door from my SA. If you're willing to stick it out and establish a relationship with one SA, it will make all the difference in the world, especially if you're interested in some of the more coveted bags.

This is really true. It helps that the SA's know you. My store gets a lot of tourists as well and when I first started going there before connecting with my SA I had awful service. Now that I have a regular SA and I go there more often I am greeted promptly even if everyone is busy. They couldn't be nicer.

Yes, definitely making a relationship with a SA makes a huge difference! My SA offers me special products once he got to know me and my husband. He will bring out some special products that are not available on the shelf or are coming soon. We are working our way to a B or K.

Hello ladies,

Just wanted to share my experience with Hermes and how disappointed I am about not being able to find and buy any bag from their boutiques...

I travel a lot. I visited many Hermes boutiques around the world for many years. However, every time I visit any boutique I ask for a birkin or a kelly, they always say that they don't have it.

In addition, I registered my name on many Wishlist, with no luck till now!

I can afford to buy the bags from resellers, but I don't trust them and I am not sure if their bags are authentic.

I am very disappointed and devastated because I have not been able to buy even one bag since ages!!!!

Just wanted to share what I feel & I would be really grateful if you can suggest ways to buy a bag.

Thank you.
