Treatment in Hermes Stores

I had an awful experience while visiting the H boutique in NYC. They had an Evelyne behind glass and I wanted to see it. I asked the first sales associate I saw for assistance, she gave me a smirk and walked away... She never came back, nor did anyone else try to help me. I don't think your age or what you wear should make any difference, but I was dressed in a nice leather moto jacked, jeans, LV bag that costs a lot more than the Evelyne and my 3.5ct solitaire e-ring...

Let me guess...Madison Ave Boutique! I too had a bad experience and the store was empty. I waited for somebody to approach and after awhile I approached an SA for help and they seem bothered I interrupted them. No salutations nothing! Never again!!

i have read and re read pages here at the forum to prepare for my paris trip and so concluded that maybe george v store was not worth going into... i was in paris last week and somehow ended up in the area of this store... i told my friend lets not bother but since the other 2 stores SAs were so nice, he said, lets just go in..
the moment i uttered the question if any Bs or Ks... the SA gave a little laugh and " no, madame" with a shake of her head... i thought " forewarned is fore armed"... i left and went to the rue de sevres store..a different planet

This was my exact same experience so Iaughed a little. The SAs are definitely a little snooty in George V.

Just wanted to tell you all of my experience at the Hermes store in Sloane Street London today.
I went in to simply exchange a twilly, so expected to be given the short shrift, or to be made to feel I was wasting their time, but I can honestly say the staff in there couldn't have been more helpful if I was spending £40k! The first SA fell over herself apologising because she couldn't serve me straight away as she was in the middle of getting something for another customer, then the SA who did serve me made me feel like royalty! Got every twilly out that they had, let me take my time, made a fuss of my 10 year old daughter, and even gave me a free sample of perfume.
It was a truly lovely experience - all to exchange a £115 twilly! Even the doorman was friendly.

So I can thoroughly recommend the Sloane Street branch for anyone in the UK or just visiting. 10/10!

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to post my first time experience of visiting the San Francisco Hermes Boutique yesterday. I was there around 2 p.m. and the store was a bit busy. I walked in with the intent to purchase a fine jewelry bracelet and a scarf because I love their scarves, they are beautiful and I love their diamond bracelets. I was dressed nicely (with my chanel shoes, chanel classic double flap bag) however I got zero response from anyone there. Not even a hello? I was like really? I read the reviews and I knew that they can be a little snobby but this was just downright rude:pout: Just had to post that. I will never be visiting them again ever!

you mentioned yourself the store was a little busy when you got there. i'd be surprised if the SAs were not busy just standing there yet still nobody greeted you -- if that's the case you have much better reason to complain. the SAs were probably just busy helping the customers who got there before you did.

I have friends that shop there. Some love it, but most only shop there bc there is no other option. I hear complaints about SA's never taking the time to learn what clients love. Never calling them when wishlist items arrive. Others have decided they would rather fly to another boutique than shop at SF. I'm not surprised to hear bad experience from that store. I think u are making the right decision to take your business elsewhere. If you purchase those items at another boutique, you will be a big hit and probably get a bag... but never at SF. Just sharing what I have heard.... :flowers:

Thank you for letting me know. I will most likely shop elsewhere, it's a shame because unfortunately I its my local store.

SF is my local store, and I never had a bad experience with them. But it's true that when they're super busy it takes a few minutes for an SA to come to you. But everytime I go, even after I've already been helped by my SA, other SAs still approach me to ask if I've been helped. I don't know if they recognize me or they know I've shopped there before, but I've seen others (guys especially) who get frustrated because they've been waiting a while. And it may depend on the SA too, but mine has always called or emailed if she has anything she thinks I want. Maybe you need an SA recommendation if you plan to go back next time?

I am a long time customer of the SF boutique and spend far too much time in there, I even go in just to take a look around and used to go in weekly with a friend. If you have a good SA, you won't have this experience. My SA is always busy and I often hang out waiting for her. Sometimes people have gotten upset as she will approach me even if others were in the store before me. But since I am one of her regulars, she helps me when she is free end drop ins wait for the next free SA. I would expect to be the case in other boutiques as well.

That said, like every boutique, there are good SAs and ... Well, let's just say not so good SAs. I see a couple of the latter standing round on the sales floor fairly often.

SF is super busy and we have a huge tourist trade, and I think some SAs think that they won't see drop ins again, so why bother.

Perhaps lucky for you, a boutique will be opening at Stanford in about 18 months so maybe it will be closer for you. Personally, I wouldn't write off SF without at least trying to find an SA that you click with.

I agree with all previous posts.
SF is my home store too.
Before I had my regular SA, the service was horrible. Usually, the SA will not approach you if they never met you before because there are tons of walkins everyday and can be snobby(tons of ppl just walking and ask for a B/K). If you are interested in something, definitely ask for a SA or flag one down and show your interest. They will warm up to you if they see you as a potential customer. I think in general if it's your first time, male SA are easier to approach.

OP ~ Perhaps that SAs were probably busy with customers at the time you came in thus the wait was little bit longer than usual... High traffic boutiques (including Chanel) do get lots tourists business in additional they have their regulars especially after 1pm when everyone is finishing lunch and starting come in to the boutique in groups.

Hope you will go back and a give them another chance to make things right for you. :hugs:

SF is my home store too. I've experienced it all- waiting for an eternity to even be acknowledged, to now getting hugs when I walk in the door from my SA. If you're willing to stick it out and establish a relationship with one SA, it will make all the difference in the world, especially if you're interested in some of the more coveted bags.
