;) If the SA's name starts with the letter G, I agree with Jyyanks, stick with him, especially if he took down your details. That's my SA and he makes good on his promises!
:smile1:

Thank you! Should I go back and buy some little stuffs? I can't afford another bag along w birkin but I can get some little stuffs. But can he help me w belts?

I dont work so I can go everyday if I need to... Lol

Everyday might be overkill :smile1:. I would try to pop in at least 2/3 x a month. They only handle bags and small leather goods downstairs (wallets, agendas etc) but I would try to build equity at the store and buy from there as much as possible. Whats important is they see you as a long term customer of the store.

Only buy what you REALLY WANT, don't feel pressured. :smile1:

I introduced G.G. to a girlfriend who, like you, had never bought from the store. She got a call within about 3-4 months. If he took down your details, that is usually a very good sign. :smile1:

Best of luck!!

Edited to add: She was offered a black birkin! Not easy to get in any store.

Thank you Leah and jyyanks! You ladies gave me little hope! I'll pop in the store when I'm in the neighborhood...
It sucks bc I just bought so much stuff at Hermes in Europe so I have no relationship w any SA here... :( but thank you and thank you for your advice!!!

Agree, only buy what you want to buy. Continue popping in every so often to say hi (daily may be overkill), browse their selection, etc. and for a quick chat. Keep building a relationship with him, and maybe when the colour/leather/size you are looking for comes in, he'll ring you first!

Keep us posted, and pls do a reveal if/when you get your B!

If it's the male SA I'm thinking of, he is very nice! He's not my SA but have talked to him briefly a few times.

I have been looking at Purseforum and wanting a Birkin for years... and finally my husband has agreed to get me one for my birthday. I have been reading and studying the posts and finally went to the NY Madison store on Saturday morning. I was really nervous bc I never bought a bag from Hermes before.

Luckily the store was empty on Saturday morning, I talked with a male SA and he asked me which colors I am looking for. He went to the back and said they do not have those colors. He said he will call me if any of those colors will come in. I asked him if he knows when.. he said he doesn't know.

Do you think I should wait for his call? Or should I keep going to the Madison store and ask? Or should I go to a different stores and ask?

I am so confused what to do... any advices?? :shucks::cry:
Hmm I thought they usually know when their new shipments come in. What was his vibe? Was he friendly and curteous or do you believe he was brushing you away?

Btw it's perfectly fine to be nervous. Lol I remember the first time I walked into my Alaskan boutique. Took a big gulp and marched right in with my magazine clipping lol.

Good luck!

SAs may know which days they typically get shipments but they do not know what colors will be in the shipment, in my experience. So I don't believe the SA was lying to her.

Oh I know. And even then, the SA still have to lobby for certain bags for their clients, kwim?

I guess what I failed to say instead is why couldn't the SA say "oh I can let you know on so & so day, when we get our next shipment..." Idk

He was friendly... He took me to side to ask for my information and colors... I liked how he went to the back to just to double check. But when he went to the back, I had little hope and excitement that I might get one and I was so disappointed when he said he didn't have one..

I was lucky bc the store was empty and I brought my dog and all the SAs gave my dog lots of attention. I'll keep you updated. I might stop in next week to "see" him. AHHHHHHHHH Im getting nervous again.

Ah then it sounds like you struck gold! Awesome. Let us know how it goes. :)

Btw from the sounds of it, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I think that's a great idea- keep "seeing" him so that you are top of mind.

You also have nothing to lose by visiting the Wall Street store....throwing it out there. They are all nice there too. My first purchase there was a croc constance wallet, and I didnt have a relationship. My friend also bought a croc B there as a walk-in a few years ago... Worth a try if you have time...

Thank you for that info. I live very close to the Wall Street so it is very easy for me to stop by. I'll stop by tomorrow when it's not snowing. I like to dress up for Hermes.. :graucho:
