Tyson: I think the Korean lady is just mean! I went in and asked if they had the lindy 30 (in rose tyrien) and she responded, 'YOU NOT VIP, YOU NOT GET KELLY OR BIRKIN'........

I didn't even ask for a Birkin or Kelly!

I just walked out! I will wait for Keith who is super nice!
This is so unfortunate. it gives such a bad name to Hermes. I was in Bloomingdales the other day and they now have a "Customers Bill of Rights" posted at the entrance. I suppose this is in reaction to the customer who was treated badly at Barney's. It clearly tells where to report an instance of bad treatment of the customer.

Now I do believe Hermes has the right to sell the goods that are limited in quantity to high spending customers. But the S/A's don't have to be rude about it.

Funny, I was offered a B or a K after spending relatively little with my SA. Very little. I actually told her that I wasn't sure that I wanted one! Of course, I have remained loyal to her and after purchasing many B/K bags from her, she is still my favorite and only H SA.

That's totally not acceptable!! I am sorry this happened to you!!
I thought you need to speak good English so to work for Hermes??

As hard as it may be, don't let this SA affect you personally. She is the one with the issue, not you. And don't let this one experience affect your shopping relationship at Hermes. For years I never received any good service (any service, period) from my home store. So I stopped shopping there. And then one day by chance I encountered a wonderful SA; she and I just clicked. She has sourced for me all of the Bs and Ks I have wanted. And I have returned the favour by buying exclusively from her and spending a lot of money with her.

Great advice!

Ugh - the SA from the Tyson store sounds awful Did you report her?

I've had mixed treatment but mostly positive in Hermes Madison. The only person who was a total jerk was a blond woman with an accent in the scarf section that wouldn't give me the time of day although I picked up a scarf in all of 2 seconds. She was too busy fanning over those tourists who couldn't make up their minds to bother and rushed though my sale. Mean while, this lovely gentleman helped me with gloves and the people downstairs in the bag section have always been really nice.

Recently, I went to the H store in Greenwich. Everyone there was extremely lovely and accommodating. They didn't have the bag I was looking for (I was looking for something in Blue Electric but they only had Blue Izmir). I ended up buying a scarf that I wasn't planning to buy but now I have a new store to go to when I'm in the area. Both NYC and Greenwhich are close to me, it just depends if I want to go north or south, though Madison probably has a better selection.

Oh, no! That is awful and that is the opposite of my experience there. I am so sorry that you had a terrible experience there. (I hope she was just having a bad day!) No one should be treated that way -- we pay too much for these goods. I hear that she no longer works there, although I don't know the reasons why.

I don't understand why it's necessary to point out the person's nationality.

I had just the exactly opposite experience from yours lol! When I first went there Keith was the one that helped me, it was a horrible experience and made me never wanted to go back to that store. Several months later I went there again, it was an Asian SA (don't know if she was the one you were talking about) that helped me, after buying some small items, she showed me a crocodile kelly cut, a crocodile kelly pochette, and a lovely grizzly constance bag, I was only allowed to purchase one of them though. I took the constance and asked about birkin or kelly, her answer was no but she said she will keep me posted. She was really nice.

However I never went back again since I don't live nearby.

Hello! I have been on the Hermes forum for quite some time... And want to ask... Do you think paying with cash is frowned upon at Hermes? Last time I went in, I ended up buying a long Kelly wallet and a belt for my husband and paid cash since I wanted to surprise him... All of our cc's are linked. However, my SA who was lovely on the phone and right up until... then suddenly she acted not so nice. And then when I asked her about the B, she said the wait list is really long and pretty much it seemed like she was saying I will never get it. So, do you think paying with cash is not preferred at hermes?

IIRC one cannot do cash transactions over $10,000 USD without running into reporting laws/regulations. There are anti-money laundering international laws in place. She may not want to deal with it. It is also problematic to travel with large sums of cash for the same reason. May be simpler to intercept the credit card bill(s) when you purchase something for your husband!!

I don't think they prefer cash at all. I have paid cash and they seemed kind of annoyed having to count all the cash. Black Amex works better perhaps.
