Do not, under any circumstances, use ocean water. Use sea salt (not kosher salt, not epsom salt), and warm distilled water. This is what they recommended to me when I got my industrial piercing. The warm water feels great and the sea salt cleans it out. Warm water stimulates blood flow.

Did this flatten and lighten the scar or help in eliminating it completely?

Try this product: Its called Scarguard MD. I got it from my plastic surgeon when I got a mole removed from my face. It is supposed to flatten keloid scars as well. The box has a picture of a keloid scar before and after and the results looked great. It can be bought in drug stores, but let me warn you its fairly expensive. I bought a bottle at the docs office for $50 but it totally eliminated my scar. Its weird cause you have to use a brush that it comes with to paint the medicine on, sort of like nail polish. When it dries it is this clear slick that can peal off easily. Try it and let me know. You will have to use it for about 3 or 4 months.

i have alo used Scarguard MD and my scar on my leg vanished! No trace at all.

You can get scarguard at your local pharmacy. It should be by the bad aid section.

Yes, iloveHoneybleu. My scar was bad. It happened while I was ice skating. I was using one of those rentals and it cut right into my skin. I had a scar 2" long and about .3" wide. It was nasty and popped out just gross. It's gone now. I also used La Mer and the La Mer serum with my treatment and it's seriously gone. I figured that if it cured Max Hubers burn scars then it could work on my leg, and it did.

Wow - I'm very hopeful after reading your post. I considered trying La Mer on my scars when I used it on my face, but never did. I'm thinking my combo therapy of the scarguard and the collagen stimulator just may do the trick. If not, I'm gonna definitely try what you did. Thanks so much for your feedback Baggaholic :smile1:

I was told by my doctor to use an oil such as Vitamin E and massage the scar firmly, he said it is the massaging action that helps, that the oil is only to help the fingers glide over the skin. I had to massage twice a day for a few months but my rather large, ugly scar has flattened out very nicely.

cutting off keloids isn't a good thing because they can just scar up even worser than before! (if you are prone to keloids) that's why it is not recommended to have surgery/cut them off.... they can grow back

let us know how everything works for you ilovehoneybleu
i hope something works for you soon!
