It happened to me, it happened OFF tPF, it's personal/private, it has nothing to do with authenticating, it was 9+ months ago.... it there's no reason for this to be on this thread.

Oh I'm not asking for more detail. I just mean that the feelings of CB, msbanaff, and whomever else feel upset that help make this place what it is matter.

I know we all agree on that.

Glad to see ATs are getting support.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure of the post you are referring to, but if it appeared that way to you I am sorry. It's the opposite. I love this forum and the members and am really care about everyone being happy here and treated well.

Thank you very much for responding to me. At the time I actually quoted Vlad's post because I thought his comment was rude and unnecessary, I guess I was hoping he would realize his snarkiness was disrespectful and apologize to the authenticator. In fact you were the one who responded then as well, explaining that you did not think that was his intention. I was just really shocked because until that exchange I would have thought the admin team would be beyond grateful to the volunteers who help make this site popular (and therefore profitable). I manage a team of volunteers at work and feel it is absolutely my responsibility to make them feel happy and appreciated all the time, I can't imagine ever speaking to them in that way, and I am not even an owner! In any case I don't want to continue going even further OT so I will pm you links now...

I sort of lost track of everything going on but in the ATLV thread, if they don't have then post requirements and authenticate and are correct, are you keeping the post or still deleting it? I'm still confused when members start authenticating that are not the recognized authenticators....

Depends on the situation, but if they are under 500 posts we will remove. If they are above but not getting it right or trusted authenticators are not comfortable, we will remove. Please report if you see it so we can check it out!

*Edited to add: there is one situation where there was someone actively authenticating before we decided on the 500 post count rule who is well trusted in her section.

Swanky touches on this in the post below me, sorry I forgot to add it original!

I'd like to say that there can be an exception :)
We see the current reports and reviewed them....
If a member isn't new and has nearly 500 posts and the authenticators see that they're making correct authentications then we may choose not discourage their valued help!

Hth?

How about an option where users causing trouble in an AT thread are banned from the specific thread without being banned from the entire forum, since this seems to be a no no when it comes to dealing with those trouble makers? I have seen this on other platforms and it works quite well.

We have, on occasion, requested members to no longer participate in certain threads when we've had persistent issues with them. But there's not a way to ban people from threads via the software.

Is CB gone? Her avatar & signature is all gone. That's bad.. [emoji107][emoji22][emoji27]

Yes, she has. And I don't blame her. I am very sad TPF has lost someone so kind, knowledgeable and generous with her time and expertise.
I hope the member who started things over in ATC, well I hope she is pleased with the way things turned out.

I've reached out to CB multiple times to no avail. I always would love to help people when there is an issue, however, I can't help if people don't want to talk to me about it.

I am sad when anyone leaves tPF and if it were something that we could work on with them, I would love to. But that isn't always the case. CB is always welcomed here and we have taken everything we've been told to heart and are actively making changes to help all authenticators and members with their experience.

Hi storeberry -

Unfortunately it looks like she has left TPF. :(

Oh no! I'm terribly sorry to hear that CB has left. If her leaving was due to an issue going on in ATC, why was it never addressed?

Now that makes two extremely qualified authenticators that have left.

While I've been following this thread from early on, I've been sort of surprised that two wonderful authenticators have gone. Is there a communication problem of sorts?

The gist of what I'm understanding (from what I've read thus far) is that most members/authenticators would prefer there be a bit more transparency on the forum. (Amongst other issues)

This begs the question as to why Post #662 was allowed to stand as is, which I thought was a bit demeaning against one of your valued authenticators; yet Post #959 (CB's) was edited.

While I have read that CB's post was edited due to it being a "private matter", I've heard that the "private matter" had originated here on TPF.

Perhaps many of the members wanted to discuss matters out in the open versus behind closed doors, which I believe is why this thread was created.

Regardless, I'm sorry to see that two wonderful authenticators have now gone.
