Tiffany I colour diamonds?

I would try on something in the middle (1.3 range) and the 1.53 again and see what you think. If this is final, don't settle, and get exactly what you want. You don't want to regret it later. If you are concerned you'll regret going so large, you don't want to get that to head some possibility off in the future of shrinkage. I wear a 1.15, my rings are sized to a 6 to fit my knuckles but my finger itself is about a 5.25 if that helps you gauge size. I feel like I could definitely go larger ;) I don't wear my rings much though, so that helps with shrinkage a great deal!

Ame, your rings look great! Really sparkly and just... perfect!

If you don't mind me asking: how large would you go personally if you could get any diamond you wanted?

Yes, indeed!

I do wonder, though, whether I should get a 1.31 or a 1.46, assuming that they are both well-cut (will enquire about the details).

The SA said 1.5 looked a bit unproportional and too much for everyday. Do you think she was being honest? Acutally it would be better for her to sell me the ring that is more expensive

I have a 1.65 and cannot wear it daily because the turning annoys me, though I had it sized, but my problem is my knuckle is slightly bigger than my finger. I use my hands a lot and have the tendency to bang my ring on everything. For me, I prefer to wear my wedding band. So to answer your question (I'm a size 4 but prefer 4.5 by the way), the stone size I have is too big for my daily lifestyle, but I didn't buy it for daily wear. You will need to determine the size that is most practical for you. Remember, the bigger the stone, the higher it will sit up on your finger, as least that's what I've observed while selecting my ring.

Before you make a decision, you need to look at all the numbers from the certificate, paying attention to the diameters.

Is it better for your SA to sell you a ring that is more expensive? Of course, but she sounds like a very honest person. My SA told me to not go over 1.27 because that's the best size for my finger and provide enough coverage, but I fell in love with something else.

Try on the 1.31 and the 1.46 as well, if nothing else to see them. But you want to see the reports on all of the above before you make a final decision, and confirm dimensions.

Thanks!!!

I think the max I would probably ever go is 3. But realistically, I think 2.5 is more likely. But that's HIGHLY unlikely to ever happen.

That's interesting to know. How often do you wear your ring?

As for me, I want to wear the ring every day and not just on special occasions.

Of course I have to buy a ring that I truly love. Actually, whichever ring I tried on at Tiffany's - they were all gorgeous.

I would say that I wear my rings around 1-2 times a week. At most. I don't really wear them much at work, for a lot of reasons, not even usually a plain band anymore, unless I have something going on after work. I'd like to wear them daily, it just isn't practical for me, because I can't really use my hands with any rings on them.

Such a pity since you have gorgeous rings!

I don't care too much if my jewellery shows a bit of wear; I just don't want it to be totally impractical. I don't want to worry about it all the time!

I just got mine a few weeks ago so I wear it for about an hour a day just to admire it. If my DH takes me on a date, I'll definitely wear it more often. :D

At the store, all of them are gorgeous and get you even more confused.

Yes, that's right. Both smaller and larger diamonds have something to them that makes them so special and beautiful.

I know for sure that I will want to wear the ring all the time (except when sleeping, showering, etc.). I want a ring that I can enjoy all the time and hope that something between 1.2 and 1.5 carat will serve that purpose.

I saw a 2.5 and it was HUGE on me! I think my max would be 1.99 so I don't pay more, LOL.
Oh I'd go under the money mark! I know it would be a MONSTER but in a good way. :p

I don't like the possibility of any whacks doing damage to the ring or me. But I like to be able to actually fully use my hands, and if any ring is on my hand of any kind, I can't do that. I don't want a ring catching on something, I don't want to actually hurt myself if I whack my hand hard, I don't want gunk getting under it or on it or whacking/scratching/whatever. Craziness is part of it, but I just don't feel like having something ON is practical when I am doing something physical.

Well, I guess everyone's different! If you're not comfortable wearing your rings all the time, then it's completely fine not to do so. I must admit that I was a bit like that, too, but somehow my attitude has changed... fine with me :D
