Well, I guess everyone's different! If you're not comfortable wearing your rings all the time, then it's completely fine not to do so. I must admit that I was a bit like that, too, but somehow my attitude has changed... fine with me :D

I supposed if I don't have so much paperwork to deal with and constantly opening and closing the file cabinets or taking people to construction site with my hard hat on, then I should be able to wear my diamond. I'm a salesperson and should enjoy showing off my diamond ring under recessed lights, which make my ring sparkles like crazy, but unfortunately, I have a good chance of messing up my ring doing the less desirable part of my job.

Then it's certainly better to wear the ring only occasionally!

I've been ring shopping a bit and found this one I really like:

Ladies, what do you think of that ring? Is that more or less beautiful than the classic Tiffany setting?

I'm a bit concerned about buying online... what if I need to have the prongs checked or need to have the ring resized? I wouldn't want to go to another jeweller, maybe they switch the diamond or something!

I really like that ring but I had all the same concern as u do now and then decided it would be best to get it where I can see and inspect it before I buy and ended up with a Tiffany setting! I sometime wish that i got a diamond pave on the band but to be honest I am really happy with the classic Tiffany setting! It goes with everything and i can pick many different style of wedding band n it will still goes nicely together!

Oh, could you post a pic of your ring, please?

I actually plan on wearing the ring without an additional band, so this is why I quite like the pave band. But then again, I have many concerns about maintenance, etc.

You would just need to find a local jeweler you can trust. It's not any different than buying locally besides you didn't see it in advance.

I am off to watch my nephew, Ill chime in on the stone later unless you don't want input on that and just meant the setting.

Yer sure! I totally understand how u worry about who to trust! That's why we ended up with Tiffany as well because we don't really know which jeweller to go to and which one we can choose. And here are few pics. I also understand ur worry about the colour. Mine is colour H. Tried to take one against white paper in diffuse light. I do sometimes sorta notice the colour from the side but I'm not sure if that is just lighting tho. The top always looks very white! I'm always glad to hear your advice on stones!

But I'm not sure whether to choose an online vendor as I don't have any jeweller here I can trust. :(

Thank you! It's a 0.8ct so not really that big at all. As it's around 6mm dimension and my ring size is 4. I used a macro lens with quite low aperture so in some photos the diamond looks massive!

It does indeed look bigger than 0.8 ct!

Are you happy with your ring? If you could choose all over again, would you pick the same?

I'll be home later but the key is simply asking around for recommendations or going in a few places and seeing the quality of work they have to offer. You want someone that can clean the ring well and keep up on the prongs, check the work and setting for loose stones.

I will say that if you don't have someone to look after it, a micropave band is not maybe the most practical ring. Blue Nile doesn't do maintenance

Mmmm I think in photos it certainly does! I def got the diamond shrinkage syndrome tho! Well I'm actually very happy with it. I think I love it more than I did too. And if I have to choose all over again, yes I will probrably end up the same! As I was also concerned that what if after a while I get bored of the style and to me this is my e-ring so I wanted to keep it for life and also be able to wear it everyday or as much a possible! And choosing this style was like a 'safe option' to me. But it has really grown on me!

That sounds good! So the longer you have it, the more you love it? :P
