hmmm...just make sure the halo's diamond color is not whiter than your center diamond. That is one of my pet peeves. When the center diamond is noticeably yellow compared to the melee diamonds (I see that a lot in the celebrity rings thread) ...not a good thing - unless you have a fancy yellow diamond of course :smile1: that's different. You might find that annoying in the long run. I heard that the halo diamonds are G colored in the soleste. You might want to verify this with your SA.

Melee looks "whiter" than it's true body color would be unset. It's such a small surface area. Sometimes they also "fire" differently and more noticably than the larger center stone so the center looks darker to the human eye than it really is.

The SA said it will be in by the end of the month. She will be taking pictures for me when it arrives ! I can't wait! :) this means I can still hope for a Christmas engagement! Yay :) she says it's an H or an I, we don't know yet and between 1-1.24 and within our budget!

How exciting! You'll have to post pics. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the H (and maybe even the I- depending on how color sensitive you are). As I mentioned before, I have an I VS1 solitaire from Tiffany. When we were doing the upgrade, I spoke about it with one of my friends who is a deadset D-E-F color type of person. When she saw the upgraded ring, she told me- aren't you glad you didn't compromise on color? LOL; she had no idea it was an I color stone.

I know it is very superficial (but we all have our preferences), but I much prefer my I color stone in a larger size than something of higher color and lesser size (indeed, this is what sparked my upgrade).

I have a mix of G-H-I diamonds from Tiffany (between my bands, e ring and pendant) and honestly can't tell much of a difference.

I just found out also that: the ring is in production!! Which means nobody will have tried it on! It's being made just for us :D omg I'm so excited! I can't believe everything is falling into place with my best friend! I love him even more for wanting this just as much as I do!

rogersa, did you find out about how Tiffany Canada is gonna price your ring if it's brought in from US?

I have the classic Tiffany setting bought 3y ago and now I want an ungrade to close to 1.5 carat. I am deciding if we should do it here in Canada or in the states.

I didn't find out because we're going to get it in the states. But both SA's came back with the same ring with a two thousand dollar difference. So after everything it's still a bit cheaper to go to the states.

Hi everyone! We're still waiting to hear more about the ring. All we know is the diamond is an H or I and between 1-1.24
I'm so impatient! I can't wait to find out more. It's supposed to be in by the end of the month, but maybe it'll be in the beginning of December. Yay! I'll keep you all posted!
