You will get fined BIG TIME if you get caught so it's all up to if you want to risk it or not. However, you still need to pay US taxes if you buys in the states.

I don't know how they will calculate the price in CAD since the diamonds you listed are all from the US pricing.

All I did was, I compared the diamonds with same specs (I know not all of them will be priced the SAME even all specs are the same) and I figured it it was 20% more expensive in canada than US 2y ago. I don't know what is it like now since CAD is much higher than 2y ago...about 15 cents higher now.

How would they EVER know though? Especially with an e-ring. Run some lotion over your hands to dirty it up on the way back and no one would ask! It's not like some huge pendant or something random - seriously they have bigger fish to fry at the border than checking for nice clean e-rings I'd think! Just my 2 cents but I'm pretty bold about it I guess!

Yes the soleste.

I think that in the end it's not worth what could really happen. And I would always be nervous when going places or crossing the border. I'm already nervous enough!! But I won't actually be there with him when he goes to look at it or to buy it. So it will be up to him in the end. I'm really excited!

The Novo you will have the same problem as the solitaire, not enough coverage on your finger. Make sure you get something you like, when you see the solitaire, it is so delicate, you may change your mind.

We would have to have it made, which I think James wouldn't go for. He loves Tiffany's and isn't fond of the idea of going anywhere else. It's hard but I want to make sure the soleste is the one. We didn't like the solitaire in comparison,
And of we went with the novela from Brian Gavin, it would have to be closer to 2ct, maybe even with a round center stone.

Would you rather have a larger center stone from BGD vs a smaller total ring from Tiffany's for about the same price? I would probably prefer a larger solitaire/novo dupe to the Soleste myself.

If you decide you want a bigger solitaire from a different jeweler, maybe purchasing your wedding band at Tiffany would be a good compromise for James. You'll either be in love with the Soleste when you see it, or you won't. You'll know. Personally I'd go for the bigger nonbranded stone. But I totally get wanting the Tiffany ring!

I think it's hard for me to want a ring that I can't physically see first and not being able to have a store is another issue too. I don't know if I'm just being nervous and I want to make sure it's the right one or what... I see some pictures and it's nothing like it is in person... So maybe looking at pictures isn't the best idea. I always saw myself with something like the novo or with a round center, but the soleste is beautiful.... Did anyone else get confused when it came to picking a ring? If you got to pick that is... I know I'm lucky :)

Can't you check out the ring at the Toronto store? I own the classic Tiffany ring and I love it. It is timeless and I could never get sick of it. You can always jazz it up with one, two or three diamond bands. I remember when Lucida first came out in 1999 and people were obsessed with it. One SA in Tiffany told recently no one is really interested in Lucida now.

I suggest you check out all the rings in person and then decide. Good luck and let us know what you end up with.

We've been to tiffanys to see those two rings and in our price range we prefer the soleste, although we'll always love the solitaire. I think I am just nervous since We've made the decision and now I'm waiting. I haven't seen it for a while so maybe that's why... I do wonder if it'll be outdated one day... But I think it's so pretty and unique that that won't happen...

I got engaged in March with a Lucida and love it! I had also looked at a square step-cut at Tiffanys.
