ThredUp Selling - Luxe

Also my first box was processed about a week past the estimated date, as others have experienced. They are clearly understaffed and as a young company that may not be profitable yet they may not be able to hire enough new people to handle the influx.

they started being more and more picky. they accepted all the items from my very first bag and only 19 out of 30 from the last one, though all of them were luxury items in great condition with great value

IDK if this was posted previously or not

I don't have a subscription so I was only able to read some of the reviews, but I definitely got the picture

The employee reviews for pretty much every start up/consignment/resale company are pretty terrible. Look up the ones for Tradesy or The Real Real for example. The employees all feel underappreciated, overworked, and that their company's processes suck.

I'm so sorry it seems like people are still having bad experiences.

My suggestion is to file a complaint with the CA Attorney general if they lose your items or otherwise rip you off. I understand that a lot of people feel that this is just growing pains but it has been going on since at least 2013 and it involves financial losses to consumers due to poor and possibly illegal practices.

I know that some people want to give them a chance but remember, if it seems too good to be true... in my opinion they will burn you eventually as they have to many others in this thread and all over the internet if you search. At this point IMO these are not mistakes, they are patterns.

There is an easy online form to report them to the consumer protection agency of California, and the state of California does want to know about these types of issues:

Add me to the official list of losing my item. I sent a Chanel rectangular mini in on 12/12 which was delivered on 12/14, they said they were looking for it up until today, when they notified me that they are contacting FedEx about the status and will let me know after the weekend.
This seems to be quite the pattern. I wonder what is behind it? Very disorganized receiving process or employees stealing items?
I hope they don’t offer me a fraction of the value of my bag like they did to others.

I hope they just find it and you get a fair price. Good luck.

I've seen reviews on other sites that may be speculation or something more where the review has claimed to find unaccepted items for sale, or missing items being sold on that site and others. So anyway...I think it's a combo of many different factors but I do think there are some shady practices occurring whether organized or just on the part of individuals or an employee "ring" of sorts.

My problem that I posted on the pg. 1 of this thread page was around 3 or 4 years ago, so they have had more than enough time to clean up their act. If there is criminal activity involved it's really stupid to mess with people's luxe items. If they lose my Target t shirt, big deal. They "lose" my Chanel, thats going to be a problem.
I'd take it up with fedex myself and if fed X showed it as delivered to them, I'd probably report it stolen. That's just me though.

I'm so sorry, that's horrible!

My own Luxe item has been received and has been photographed but still hasn't shown up on the site for sale and it's now been about 10 days since it was processed.

Thank you for your empathy!
I think they are a bit delayed from the holidays, hopefully your item will be listed soon. How long has it been since the photos showed up? Usually the delay from being able to view photos to being able to view/edit prices has been ~2-3 days and then another ~2 days until they are listed.

Yes, I think they are just swamped due to the holidays. The photos have been available to me for 5 or so days so hopefully it will show up soon.

I truly hope they find your Chanel mini or compensate you fairly. Still, what an incredible hassle for you and others whose high end items have been lost (or were stolen). This is not the way to run a business, not when they are competing with sites like Fashionphile, Ann's , Yoogi's, TheRealReal, etc.

Thank you, yes I definitely haven’t given up hope yet, but I tend to be an optimist :)
