Ladies....update on commit to buy saga!

I sent in two HL dresses and one of them sold very quickly. I contacted them today and said I would send 2 more dresses, to please send another label, but was holding off on handbags until the commit to buy feature was fully rolled out. They responded and said it is fully rolled out--but for some reason I could not see this. So apparently, it only works if you have already purchased on the site and have a credit card saved as a payment method. I have only purchased on the site once before, and used paypal. I also went to my account info and there is no way to save a new payment method such as a cc without buying something. :( So basically first time buyers on the site will have no idea about or access to this feature, nor will prior purchasers who have not used a cc to pay before.

Can anyone who has purchased from TU using a cc before confirm that they can see this feature? Basically just go to any item that is reserved in someone's cart and see if it gives you the option to "commit to buy."

Yes, I purchased an item with CC and I have this option now. However they really need to roll it out to all visitors to the site since many people will be one time buyers.

wow, they respond you so quickly? I've been waiting for replay for 4 days:sad:
Yes, I got a response right away from someone named Annabelle, but it was just to get a new label and then she responded to me about the commit to buy thing. I told them this is really limiting now because there will be a lot of first time buyers looking at the LUXE items and they won't know about the feature. She said she would pass along the feedback to the "team."

Are you now able to see all items, even reserved ones, without having to check a box?

There's nothing I want to buy on the site right now and I'm not going to buy something I don't want just to see the feature. :/

Now I am on the fence about sending bags in...the feature is sort of up...but not. Maybe that's how one of my dresses sold so quickly--that someone was able to use the feature? I think I will just test it out a little more with only dresses.

Yes, I am wondering the same thing. I was thinking about sending in a Birkin 30, just because the 10% commission is still pretty attractive. I just wouldn’t want it to sit there forever.
What do you ladies think? I want to make at least $7800 on it, which would be a listing price of about $8675 on thredUP. That’s a really good price, and I currently have it on vestiaire for $9950 to make the same amount, but the highest offer I’ve gotten on there so far is $9750. I just don’t know if thredup is the right market for high-end items yet. Other sites get so much more traffic even if I have to sell for much higher prices there.
If you do send in a high value bag, you should ship it in yourself so that you can insure it properly. That’s what my advisor always tells me to do. They reimburse you for shipping after they receive the bag. Of course let them know before you ship it so that you can get it in writing that they are reimbursing you.

Did you reclaim your other one from them?
I wouldn't send them another birkin until they show that they have buyers to buy any birkin.

Someone actually bought it over the weekend. I guess they must have used the commit to buy feature. However, that price was so good that it would give a lot of motivation for someone to put in the extra effort. The other one I’m thinking about sending in is a more desirable size, but the price would have to be a lot higher. I guess maybe I should just wait it out on the other site for now.

Oh, congrats! Well, they did have a buyer, albeit at a steal price! It may be worth a shot with the new one, but I would find out if they are covering return shipping if it doesn't sell, because I imagine it would be expensive to insure. Another problem with Vestiaire is that most of their buyers are overseas, so they have to pay duties on top of your price, making them willing to pay less.
