^^I've actually found a couple of his pieces that we really like, but now that the thought of a 4+ct is "doable" I have my eyes set on that! LOL

Good luck with choosing your ring! This might not be very helpful, but I, like some of the other gals here wouldn't go with a J. I don't go below F in color.

I visited w/ my usual jeweler today. I have been admirning her massive round brilliant for a few years and today I found out some specs that COMPLETELY surprised me. First of all, I've tried her ring on twice and I was pretty confdent that it was an E or F color and probably a VVs1 or 2.
I went to her to tell her about the stone DH found and how I'm 2nd guessing it, blah, blah, blah
She said, "you know, my ring is an I and an SI1"

I nearly fainted. I was actually wearing her ring when she told me this! I actually slipped it off and held it up to the light and COULD NOT see any color!
A week ago I said the same thing, never go lower than G, today I take it back! Some J's look colorless.

A well-cut, i.e., ideal cut J can blow your socks right off your feet. A poorly cut E of F can sit there and do nothing. When choosing:
1. cut
2. carat
3. color
4. clarity
You can play around with 2,3, and 4--but if the cut is #1, your tootsies will be bare naked

I'm so jealous I can't stand it!! I got my stone from WF, too. They are terrific to work with. I had mine sent to an independent appraiser before being sent to me...do you know what you are going to do? Well, here I go getting ahead of your DH's go ahead. You can have WF reserve the stone for you

Heres mine,an old cut,all the wrong 'rules' for cut and I in color 1.74cts. So on paper it would look like a dreadful stone but IRL??? I'll let you decide..........

I have also had several offers to have it re-cut through my time and contacts in the trade.I have always refused.I fell in love with it the second I saw it and I still to this day love it the same and have no desire to change a single thing about it.xxx
