This whole thing is like a terrible reality show that I don’t want to watch but CANNOT stop myself ! My husband and I were at the hospital waiting for few hours this morning for my son to come out of a procedure and I stumbled onto this... definitely distracted us from the stress of waiting for him and FYI he is fine now
Point being - I was I only able to get my hubby to watch bc I had him trapped! Albeit i had to fast forward through many sections just so we could both get through it. It is amazing how “serious” this is ! At the end of the day - these are bags we are talking about right ?? Life will go on ! I literally do deal w cancer pts all day and it def sheds some perspective! Don’t get me wrong - I love love Hermes and the obsession is real but it just seems there is so much time and energy and emotion used in pursuit of these bags in this situation !
And it’s like even if you have spent $27k - it was on goods- not a donation .. you can’t expect it !
These were thoughts I was having even before knowing about the reselling
Anyway I enjoyed semi torturing my hubby (who is a super reasonable person who thinks this whole “bag offer “ is crazy) by making him watch what seemed to be a bad reality show .. and it helped pass the time .. so I am thankful for that

I agree. I’ve watched a ton of her videos and this is precisely the vibe that I’ve gotten. She’s not in the income bracket to be spending all of this money at Hermes if she’s constantly reselling and also selling China (?) goods on her eBay store. I’m not judging, I’m not in that income bracket either but also this is why I don’t pretend to be some VIP either.
Briefly scanned the eBay store as some others mentioned. Some products being offered are Hermes dust bags, complimentary Hermes Chinese new year red envelopes, SAMPLES of makeup, and even the “Le Monde d’Hermes” magazine. Wow...

I hope your son has a speedy recovery. My thoughts are with your family.

Lots of good points in this thread. Definitely comes off as a reseller.

You know, the more I read and give this thought - this has been a welcome break from the reality that is work today ;) - she is not a reseller. The behavioural patterns are now pretty clear to me. As I mentioned, no shade, but she isn't in the income bracket to purchase from H the way she does. She strikes me as someone - hearing that she does reveals for the smallest item - that would like the attention that comes along with significant purchases without actually having to spend the money, hence immediately reselling the items she purchases.

I do not personally know anything about influencers, Youtubers, etc - I think I'm too old. But what I do know is that there has always been a certain personality type that will buy big ticket items that they cannot necessarily afford, then return or resell after receiving all of the praise and accolades that come with posting these purchases online. It's happened on tPF *so* much over the years. Perhaps she had tried to return items during her time shopping with H which will alone certainly sour them... Either way, there is more to the story that we will not know..

I think you’ve hit the mail on the head here.

Just to add to this thread. She shouldn't have told her SA about participation in the resale market. If you have been provided quota bags and have sold them or you have bought preloved, don't mention it to your SA! It's like luxury 101. I'm sure it leaves a bad taste in their mouths to hear it. All IMHO of course.

I'm sure store managers/SAs/corporate all know about the resell market but you don't have to tell them you are a part of it.

This goes for LV, chanel, Dior, Tory Burch, coach, etc.

I think Purseonfleek misunderstood building relationship with SA and shared TMI with her. Also I don’t understand why post such an embarrassing experience on public platform. Nothing is worth one’s privacy!
As some of you have noted- I, too, got bored and I decided to go back to pause and read the Emails displayed on the YouTube video. I think Hermès’ charge about health and safety could be a valid statement. One Email in particular definitely crosses a line. If any man had written the Email, I read, to a female employee of a company, the police would be knocking at the man’s door.

I read all of her emails and they come off as incredibly manipulative. I feel bad for her that she had skin cancer (timestamp 26.31: "
Sadly for me I found out I had a skin cancer on my forehead, it’s cut out by surgery 1 week ago now but will be left with an awful scar. [...] Is it possible to keep me in mind if any bags on my wishlist comes in close to the appointment?" I cut out some sentences in the middle but they don't change the context of what I'm referring to, as they are about purchasing other items) but as someone with a chronic illness that has completely changed how I have to live my life, I would never tell a sales associate something like that. Imagine if she said that in person to her sales associate (who is clearly not her close, personal friend) and then followed it up with, "so what bags do you have in stock?" Most humans would feel sympathy for her and want to make her feel better and what better way to make someone feel better than to give them something that they want?

I’m trying not to lose sight that this is a sad situation for Mel. She may not have known she was over-sharing and sounded too intense in her correspondence. I hope she finds excitement in something new that‘ll make her happy and content. It’s easy to critique her actions because she’s made them soooooo public, but she is human ... like all of us.:flowers:

Yes. I think H had an issue with the Email timestamped 22.57. I think that may have been the last straw when it came to over sharing.

It's just mind-boggling to me the amount of oversharing. I'm sure her SA is happy that she had a healthy baby, but why is she supposed to care about her nursing habits? I can easily see why a sales associate would be uncomfortable after getting these countless emails. She could have easily said, "I gave birth to a baby boy so I can't come in that often," but then she says that she would go in for her wishlist bag, so she actually can come in if it's worth it to her. I don't understand the point of the email other than to add onto her wishlist and to provide more emotional fodder.

I worked high-end retail before I went to law school. Not Hermes level, but it was the type of store where you had business cards, your own personal email, and your own client book and I also dealt with customers who made me uncomfortable. She reminds me of one customer I had who I would personal shop for as she lived in another state, but she would email me constantly about her life. She would tell me about her health problems, about her husband cheating on her, on her relationship with her daughter, and then she would put me through the ringer of sending her clothes and then her doing mass returns. I would often lose sales because she would sometimes call the store to talk to me about her life. It was emotionally draining for me and my manager at the time did not have my back because this client spent a lot of money and feared the client would go elsewhere as she only wanted to deal with me, so I was pretty much forced to put up with it until I quit.

So I feel no sympathy for her whatsoever and in fact, I'm happy that Hermes has their employee's back when so many businesses believe the customer is always right.
