I just can't believe there's a global pandemic going on and people are literally dying and she's here on Youtube crying over not being offered a bag. *rolls eyes* Like she is legit more upset over not getting a bag than.. having cancer?!

How superficial can you get?!

From her video, it did seem like the SA was not interested in her as a client from the start, not interested in reserving anything for her from her Wishlist. I don't know why she didn't just find another SA at that point, it was clearly not working out. I also think that she seems very demanding. I never contact my SA outside of the store because I don't want to bombard her - it just feels so pushy and rude. It's crazy that Mel has to continually buy items that she doesn't love (if she did, why would she resell them a few months later?!) just in the hopes of getting offered a bag.

Also, there is nothing "special" about turning 31 or having a wedding anniversary that warrants a bag... I just can't.

Anyway, I don't think Hermes would miss her as a client in any way. Based on her reaction I am also going to unfollow her, this girl is just too whiny, and ungrateful. Maybe now that she's done with Hermes for good she can finally start enjoying those Senreve bags that she loves to promote so much....

I'm not certain we have the whole story here, but if I were ever in a scenario where Hermes HR called me, I would take a big step back and reassess. Did her emails contain too many personal details? (Yes.) Did her emails seem demanding and disjointed? (They did!) Does it sound entitled by bringing spend into the conversation with the SA? (Yep!)

I am sorry that she seems genuinely hurt and confused. Hopefully the path forward will become a bit clearer with a little time and distance.

Hmm, I have never sold or tossed my packaging because I can't afford to buy that frequently yet, and I am obsessed with keeping the entire set, but I think from a sustainability perspective, selling or gifting shouldn't be looked down upon. If you don't want the packaging anymore but it'll make someone else very happy, I think it's better to either gift the item (or sell), than to have it end up in a landfill.
In my view, the main concern for selling packaging, bags, ribbons, etc. is that scam vendors purchase them with the intent of trying to pass off a counterfeit as authentic. But I agree with sustainability.

These are both great points. I am 100% with you on sustainability, but the answer is to decline extra packaging in store (totally fine to do this, including bags and some boxes) or give it away. Selling dustbags and boxes, which are meant to be kept to protect your merchandise whilst at home, seems a bit off and definitely helps the scammer market.

I am relatively new in my Hermès journey and have never worked in retail before...but in all honesty her emails were overwhelming to me and I can see how it can be perceived as aggressive... I can understand the frustration of not getting what you want but honestly it borderlines petulance... Life events do not make it an obligation to get bag offers....

she is probably buying and reselling ”other items” she spent money on on eBay to get quota bags, and then post these quota bags on YouTube to generate views and possible side income, later use these quota bags for awhile and then resell for profits or funds toward newer quota bags for her next “quota bag reveal” YouTube videos...the cycles go on and on.... nothing wrong IMO as long as she has her followers supporting these actions. Obviously Hermes corporate, store manager and her SA aren’t one of her followers.

You make a good point re: sustainability. I actually sometimes tell my SAs not to include all the packaging because it's a waste. I didn't mean to sound snobby - I generally am happy to buy pre-loved (not with Hermes, as I'm not experienced enough with the brand to spot a fake) and I have sold items that I am no longer using or have fallen out of love with. I just don't like it when people turn a big profit off of items that they got for free - she is charging a lot for the packaging on her eBay store ($25AUD + shipping for a ribbon...).

Edited to say that giving it away is also a great option. It's the profit aspect that I find bothersome.

I think this is the right way to go about it for sure! Declining packaging isn't even a possibility I've considered since I still get butterflies seeing the packaging :P, but hopefully the frequent buyers are doing this instead of throwing out packaging!!!!

in one of her videos she calculated how much she spent not including the bags themselves and said she sold some of the items she bought as well as the bags she bought from resale market.

Reactions: Ms Stressa
Of all the things mentioned here I get this the least: "health and safety concerns"
Maybe annoying, but that? Can somebody please explain that to me? (I have to admit I did not make it through the video)
I can only speculate here. Health could be referring to mental as well as physical. The SA was probably mentally exhausted trying to work with her. Safety could be concerns for the situation to escalate. HR departments will work with employees struggling with those types of concerns.

Based on the information presented: HR, in my mind, without a doubt should have referred this issue back down to the store manager. HR shouldn't have any interaction whatsoever with a store's customers.

I just can't imagine loving a brand so much as to invest that much time or emotion into them though. But I also can't imagine defending a brand who did what they did in this instance, if what was presented is to be believed.
