Like many others said I think she was a little too much with her emails...

But besides that...taking a huge step back...I just don’t get how anyone, influencer or not, goes on whining for an hour about the inability to buy a $$$$$ handbag that nobody needs. Just...think about how ridiculous it is when that is the biggest problem you encounter in your life. And in this case you then proceed to to put it out on the Internet to generate views and sympathy. Like...cmon. And I am like most of you here a huge fan of H products and after these bags myself. Still I cannot imagine why.

Homegirl needs to learn boundaries and show a bit of class. That’s life, honey. You can’t always get what you want.

All I can hear is Veruca Salt singing in the background...

“I want the works
I want the whole works
Presents and prizes and sweets and surprises
Of all shapes and sizes
And now
Don't care how
I want it now
Don't care how
I want it now...”

I will just say this:
Nobody of my SA's that I consider to have very friendly (business) relationships with would get such personal emails from me. And specially not such long ones reminding them about all the things I want...for the all the upcoming special occasions in my life (It is like a child's essay). I will say it once maybe twice that my husband would like to gift me a bag for our anniversary/birthday/etc and that's it. The SA knows who is who and specially who should get a bag... that's all really. One needs to somewhat keep their dignity, no?
With all due respect, I feel for the SA feeling intimidated. No SA is interested in so much info...

100% agree! I couldn't believe that she mentioned the month she and her husband will be trying for a baby, that is honestly too much information :wtf: No SA needs that visual in their head. I know she meant it with no ill intention, but I can see how this would be too much for the SA.

Oh man yeah I sat through this hour long rant as well and I should make it clear I went into this video totally prepared being sympathetic with her but as soon as I heard the trying for the baby part I’m like “yeah girl Hermes is just not that into you”. She’s yourSA, not your gynecologist!

I just watched the full video and wanted to chime in. I also really like Mel. I am a relative newbie to Hermes and, despite having been a long term client at other houses, found the prospect of starting the 'journey' a bit intimidating. I have learned so much about H from her videos. She is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about about the house.

That being said, the emails were... a lot. I only quickly skimmed them as they popped up on the screen and thought the tone was quite pushy. I am in a client-based industry myself and I have a lot of empathy for SAs. Customers who are spending this type of $$$ are often incredibly demanding (and rude/entitled). I am not saying that Mel was necessarily being 'entitled' (two + years is a really long time to wait for a bag), but it can come off that way when you are complaining about other people getting bags before you and pointing out how much you have spent at the boutique (prior to this SA and with this SA). She did seem quite upset in some videos after coming back from the boutique empty handed, so it wouldn't surprise me if she came off more upset in person than she realizes.

Personally, I have been quite lucky with all of my SAs at luxury houses, but I always try to be kind, patient and respectful. I think this is even more important at H, where SAs are getting hounded daily for quota bags. I don't think she was gaining herself any favours by bringing up her long wishlist on a regular basis (and especially not by bringing up her spend).

I will say that I was surprised to see that HR got involved here - I didn't see anything that would merit HR involvement and I do feel badly for her.

1. Desperation is never sexy. Emotionally blackmailing the SA is worse.
2. If she really purchases all H things she loves as claimed, why repeatedly asking for the 'dream dream dream bag'?
3. Her dream bag list reads 'B/K25 in any darn popular color', might as well say 'just give me these so I can easily resell if I feel fat carrying it later'.

Lastly, I can't have a refund for my 50-plus minutes watching this video as well, should I rant it out for the world to see?

i’ve watched a handful of her videos, mostly her “hermes journey” ones. in those videos she seemed frantic and too impulsive, buying and selling constantly, chasing different bags constantly, selling everything within a few months of buying. while watching those videos i got the feeling that the store was intentionally not offering her a bag and thought she was a bit pushy.

however, the hr calling her for being a “health and safety concern” is too much. she wasn’t being rude and malicious toward the sales assistant. she wasn’t threatening or verbally abusing anyone in the store.

Bags and the super in-demand, popular items, just dominate every single e-mail from my perspective. "if I can't do remote ordering I'll come in a couple of months unless you get me a wishlist bag." I think H realizes most of us are there for the bags, but I've not really seen in the video so far her asking for anything else besides that but I'm still in the middle of watching this 1 hour (way too long) trainwreck. Her taste and wishlist seems to change more often than I change shoes so I can imagine her SA being overwhelmed and not able to keep up.

She should have picked up on 'I'm not in the store but one of my colleagues can assist you' and the reminder around 'her journey' and 'linked selling' should have been a clue to her that she's not getting a bag from that store.

HR calling her was a lot but her emails were equally a lot, very pushy!
Tbh I think Hermes has black listed her as a reseller. She publicly resold her bags and is currently selling Hermes dust bags on her eBay store linked to her social media. It’s just not a good look I’m afraid.

A nearly hour long video crying about not getting a bag and being done with Hermes to then at the end say I hope they still offer me a bag ?! There really are more important things in life, she needs to get a grip.

Yes, she has shared too much information on her personal life and yes, she's inquired a bit too often about her dream bags but I totally feel her. It is frustrating when you spend thousands and thousands of dollars and aren't offered any bag.

Let's be honest, the 90% of the purchases you make on other categories are just to pave the way towards a B/K. They clearly didn't want to sell any bag to her but they were more than happy to take her money for all the other products she purchased.

As far as the HR phone calls it is so so so pathetic and I have never heard something like this happening with other brands. Shame on them and shame on the SA.

I am disgusted by their behaviour and I feel really sorry for this girl. Even tho she's been pushy, she's always been nice and friendly, she didn't deserve being treated that way.

I’ve just watched the entire video (with a playback speed of 1.5x:giggle:). The emails are definitely too much, I don’t know anyone that shops that way with Hermes. My online communications with my SA don’t go beyond making appointments. Personally I would never feel comfortable bombarding an SA with emails that long and detailed. Her approach is definitely off, if I was the SA I would be super annoyed reading those emails. Maintaining a good relationship with an SA doesn’t mean adding them into your close friends list.

She also obsesses over her purchases too much. I get having a long wishlist but don’t push the SA. She was sending this poor SA on a hunt for a million different things.

It gets worse. She’s actually selling Hermes packaging, bags, boxes, ribbons, dust bags and the free lipstick samples. But she’s also selling fake twillys, LV and Chanel cap toes on the same eBay page! All linked to her social media!
Honestly she can’t see why this is a problem and Hermes might not offer her a bag? She already stated the store manager blocked her on social media which means he’s seen her page.
