Thoughts on Gucci's Belt Bag?

Gucci belt bag fan here! It’s a trendy item for sure and pairs great with the whole athleisure wear trend kick (which I am into at the moment). I think the leather version also allows the bag to be carried when I want to be more dressy and the oval shape is a modern take on the bag. Love how it’s styled with blazers and dresses on IG.
I prefer the belt bags rather than the traditional fanny packs because it is versatile (IMO). I have the Gucci marmont belt bag in black. The color is easy to pair with since it goes with everything. I can take the belt off and use the pouch alone as a pretty clutch or use it as a pouch inside a larger bag. It works beautifully as a proper clutch due to the shape and size (much dressier than a LV toiletry or Chanel o case) and I have both. I can also use the belt separately as a belt if I wanted (though I haven’t tried). So when the trend is over, I still have an item that I can continue to use.
I think the price is reasonable (to me) when I consider the different uses of the bag. I also considered the super mini marmont (which I still love) since it can be worn as a waist bag, crossbody and as a clutch. But I already have several mini bags that serve the same purpose (Chanel minis, woc, dior pouchette) and really didn’t care that it could be worn as a Long crossbody. So I opted for the belt bag since I want to be able to carry it over the shoulder, higher on my waist or lower on my waist.
No regrets at all. Love how I am truly hands free. I carried it during my recent trip to Hawaii and it was perfect. I plan to pair my belt bag with my Gucci ace this spring/summer and rock it!
I saw the bipolar max video mentioned above and loved it, especially the Chanel, but it’s above my comfort level price wise. She totally rocked it!

Never had a belt bag before so due to the trend, decided to get one yesterday and love it. It is so comfortable on and can fit everything I needed (cell phone, glasses, keys and key pouch) I went for this fanny pack style because it is casual and has a back pocket - a big plus for money.

I’ve been really debating about getting a belt bag. Trying to decide between the two supreme GG canvas belt bags (the one with the magnetic closure and the one with the two smaller pouches that are separate). Does anyone have either of these and can tell me their opinion on it? I’ve been leaning more towards the two separate pouch one only because one of the pouches is a zip closure which is more secure...
I was also on the fence. I admit I like the way it looks. Some of my friends think it’s not flattering for most figures. My teenage child hates it lol. I ended up not getting it as I was just not in a position to spend the $ on a trend. I opted for Ophidia wristlet as I needed a small little bag. Still if I was in a better financial position and $ no object I think I’d splurge on the trend knowing it might not last. You know these trends come and go.
Have you seen bipolarmax on YouTube? She did entire video on fannypacks and is a plus sized gal. She totally rocks the fanny packs. Luv her.

Check out the video by bipolarmax or her IG. She rocks it. I also try on all the belt bags and fanny packs I see in the stores even though I don’t plan on buying another. I just cant seem to help myself. Lol
This is the Sylvie Mini the I’ve taken a picture of for you too see. Here I am wearing it as belt bag. I love it,But if you have some girth consider letting this trend pass. I am expecting and soon I not be able to wear this bag as a belt (I’ll use it as a clutch, crossbody etc). I also have the gg supreme belt bag (mod shot to follow). This one can be used crossbody instead of around the waist. I hope this helps.
FYI... I watched bipolarmax’s YouTube video on fanny packs. She has offered great options for those who are plus size (and I assume will apply to those who will increase in girth soon such as myself).
Here is an additional photo of the gg supreme beltbag. I usually wear this crossbody. I use this in the classic sense of a “fanny pack”. In other words, to sports activities, leisure activities, amusement park etc etc. There is not much room to expand the size of the belt.
I’ve been watching a few chanel belt bags on eBay for a long time .and the prices never ever go down .. and about 30 mins ago I said to myself forget it let me go for the Marmont but first let me check TPF and of course I see you here .... well that doesn’t surprise me .... it’s been a long time straight laced !!!❤️

I used to have this bag also. Loved it but it met with an unfortunate accident. I keep meaning to replace it.
I love the look and ease of a belt bag and am glad Gucci is keeping the tradition going.
