Thoughts on Gucci's Belt Bag?

The sizes referred to eg 75, 80 etc are actually referring to belt size I believe. Although the different bag styles obviously do differ in size as well.
I was trying to decide if I should get a 65 and use it as a short shoulder and get a gold chain strap to "rig" it to a longer strap should I want it cross body, OR, get a 105 and use it as a sort of new age cross body.

I went ahead with the 105. If I add a gold chain to it, it will be a "doubled up" strap, not as an extended strap.

Can't wait to do my reveal! Yay!!!!!

I didn't notice how they separated the men's bags and women's bags. I love that Christmas belt bag! Wish it were in red or white leather though.

Belt bag with bamboo carry handle and a flying tiger with angel wings??
Is this the very ultimate waist bag/bum bag/ fanny pack??? The belt bag you find in heaven?
I feel I have passed into a new fashion world, where nothing is as it was before...

Thinking in a practical way, it would be kinda bulky under a coat/jacket too but maybe cool over, strapped on military style like an ironic ammo belt.

At least one can wear this bag as a shoulder/X too

Flying zebras have been around at Hermes for a couple of years and unicorns are on everything my niece owns. Mythological beasts are multiplying at an alarming rate!

This is what I'm trying to figure out...maybe I need a new thread?

How would I go about (safely) making this a cross body bag? Would I just use the longest strap, 105? Or would I get a new strap altogether? Thing is I would want to have the bag upright on my hip...just not across my hip if you know what I mean. I love the bag design, but there will be many times when I don't want to use it in the touristy fashion, and rather just a night-out fashion. Does this make sense? Also, I wouldn't always want to carry it against my chest like how it is on the website.

I think if I were to just use the 105 strap as a cross body, the actual bag would tilt outward from my hip a bit...and maybe it wouldn't look so bad. If I got a new strap, I would have to get probably something else to engineer it so the weight of the bag + strap didn't hurt it in any way.

Hmmm.:confused1:

I actually purchased a pink velvet marmont belt bag this week... but I ended up returning it because I wasn't take. With the colour in person. I ordered a 95 - I'm a uk size dress size 10-12 and 5.9" tall. I found it a good size because I wanted to wear it loose on my hips - but I also tried it cross body and it was a perfect fit and it looked good. There is a good level of adjustment options on the belt. I hope this helps you.

Oh wow! When you wore it cross body, did the bag part tilt outward from your hip? Or did it lay straight against your hip? I'm 5' 2"

If you want the flat cross body look where the back of your bag is hanging away from your handle, would get a much thinner strap or possibly a chain strap. That way the bag can swing out and hang down like a regular bag.

The thick belt that comes with it will keep the bag angled tightly in accordance with the belt itself, and the bag will be looking/ hanging like a belt bag.

Although I note the psychedelic flying tiger bag is adjustable as pt pointed out. I guess that bag allows you to detach and re-attach the straps at different anchor points.

Some new belt bags that launched on Gucci's website this morning - they're really pushing the belt bag this season. I'm interested in some of their creative ideas behind them....

Thanks for posting these! I love that one with the flying tiger. There is a thread in "Handbags and Purses" about belt bags, and I'm going to show those pics there, too, with a reference to this thread.

I probably can answer my own question. Lol. Interested in other opinions. Are the new belt bags a passing trend? Not worth it? If you would have asked me a few years ago I would say yuck. Now I’m loving the look of it. My teenager thinks it’s funny and not cool. Lol.

Is it a passing trend that will be worn this year then put back in the closet until it comes back 20 years from now? Is a bag or wristlet a better option? Or is it fashion forward and worth it. Thoughts?
