All the research for our upcoming vacation to Disney World got me thinking which bag I should take there.
We will be there around 8 days. Most of the time will be at the parks (the 4 at DW), and the remaing time we will go to the outlet.
I'm thinking on only taking 1 or 2 bags since I don't want to overpack so I can have luggage space for the shopping...I wonder how many bags will fit in a carry on![]()
Initially I had thought to take a coach packable tote (the one that folds into a little pouch) and a dooney nylon 3 zipper CB so I could use the coach tote when flying there or while shopping and then put it back into its pouch and in my suitcase in case that I need to carry a shopping bag as my personal item on the plane. And then use the nylon CB on the parks, since I can see it being small enough to even carry it on a ride, but I wonder if it is too small.
Or should I take just one bigger bag, like a coach file bag or one of those convertible hobos so I can put the camera inside or a bottle of water. I haven't been there in a long time so I don't remember if they have lockers so you don't have to carry all the stuff all the time or while on rides.
what do you think? Any other ideas?
The Dooney Florentine Pocket Crossbody in natural, chestnut, t'moro, white/natural or black because it has easy to acces back pocket front pocket and main body. No pink, blue or any of those colors that might run onto your clothes if it's raining. If not them then the new Coach Swingback crossbody that is horizontal not vertical. A little thin but surprisingly holds a lot. Then bring the Coach bag that folds up into it's pocket.
Ta-Dah!
Just took a flight, do not pack a lot of bags especially totes if you plan to buy bags. Makes no sense.
Hey Becks,
Hmm, I don't have that florentine....oh, a reason to get a new bag
Oh GF! you know my MO. With a Dooney,Brahmin and Coach outlet, I will be planning the family outfits very smartly since I will be needing a lot of luggage space. My idea is each of us take a carry on with our clothes, and then check in 2 or 3 suitcases, you know, one inside another, so on the way back all the clothes and heavy stuff comes back on the checked luggage and I have 3 carry ons to bring my bags in. That's why I was thinking on taking the least number of bags with me, that way even shopping bags can be carried in the plane as the personal item in case I run out of space or the bag is too bulky to put inside the carry on.
Based on all the comments from all the ladies (Thank you btw!), I went to my closet and took a look at the crossbody bags I have and picked the ones that I thought could work best. I took a pic of them.
Take a look. So far, I'm thinking either the large coach CB in the middle (the one with many colors) or the little plaid/navy one. I also took the convertible hobo that I was thinking but after a closer look it might be too big.
What do you ladies think?
The aqua one in the bottom right corner is the tote inside the pouch.

Shipping not a bad thing lol
None of those cross bodies except maybe the black one. You need a neutral or solid if you are going to wear multiple days. The three zipper is too small. The yellow is too hard to get to the bottom. Give us another set to choose from. Yes that Coach tote for something. Too convenient not to take.
Next thread should be what to put in the crossbody. I carry a wash cloth for everyone or those that are vacuum packed. That way they can use cool towel from water fountain. Ziploc for wet towels. Must have pill case with headache, stomach ache, allergy meds and one tums. Visine in case you need an eye wash. Spray bottle of hand sanitizer. Small travel size deodorant. Mints. Sunglasses. No wallet. Health card, DL, TWO CC's. Cash. Camera. Fingernail clipper. Sunscreen in small container for touchups. Phone. Yes I have lots of family that come here to go to Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens. I have this down.
MaryBel, You need a light weight crossbody, Your choice might be perfect,
MB, how fun it is to be getting ready for a trip! Packing is SO much more fun than unpacking.
Of those pictured, I would take either of the larger Coach crossbodies, the middle one or the middle-bottom one. Lightweight, fabric, big enough for souvenirs or granola bars, juice box, sunscreen, sunglasses. It's a tricky balance between being prepared and being overloaded.
Take the aqua packable tote, too, but not necessarily to the parks.
I have thought of that too!
Becks, why do you think it needs to be solid or neutral, just it goes with all the outfits or is there another reason?
I'll go thru my CBs ang get another set. The thing I don't like about the black one is that it has a magnetic closure, so not good for me. I agree about the yellow and the 3 zipper one, not good choices either.
I love your ideas for the inside, I'll have to add a couple of small snacks.
The packable tote is going for sure, not for the park but for any other day needed.
So far that's the one I'm thinking since it's the largest one but still light, but will decide once I have more info.
I think if none of the ones that I have work, probably I'd try to get one of the coach coated cotton file bags, since they are bigger than normal CB, but easy care.
The aqua tote is going too!
