Hi OP! I went to Disney a few years ago and going cross body is the way to do it!
It's just easier to have a small cross body that will hold the essentials--like your Roots bag. The Coach swingpack works too but I prefer the Roots bag as it has a front pocket (easy access to camera/phone/small amount of cash). Not sure if your Coach one does.
I think the Le Pliage will not be practical for some of the amusement park rides.
Also, if you do have to carry a lot of things because of children (wipes, sun screen, diapers, snacks, etc)--I'd carry or purchase a big but cheapie crossbody bag.
I find that it's inconvenient to juggle a shoulder purse while holding a toddler and the various prizes won and gift shop purchases. Have fun in sunny FL! :flowers:

How much stuff are you going to take/carry with you?
I went to Disneyland in July and took a fabric tote bag so that if it got dirty I could simply throw it in the wash. I needed something relatively big because I needed to carry my DSLR camera, water, sunblock, sunglasses case and phone. The tote was light and easy to carry and I could throw stuff in and take things out easily. I would say the le pliage but if you don't need that kind of space then I would go with the roots crossbody.

I totally agree that crossbody is the way to go. I also think that lightweight/water resistant is a good idea - depending on what rides you choose to go on. I carried a Baggallini. They're nylon, come it cute colors and in a wide choice of sizes and styles. Have a fun trip!

The last time I went to an amusement park it rained so I was so glad I brought my medium le pliage with me as it protect my things especially my camera.

Roots all the way. Having a crossbody bag will be a lifesaver b/c I foresee that you'll be walking around all day. It's super light too, so that's another plus. I've never seen the Coach one so I couldn't say, but I know Roots has finished leather (they seal it to make it water resistant) so if it starts raining or if you get on rides that might get you a bit wet, you won't have to worry about your bag ^^

I advised to use the Roots bag. If you think you might need to be able to schlep more things while at Disney, you could always put the LePliage inside your crossbody (or a cheapie foldable grocery nylon tote).

Have fun!!!

All the research for our upcoming vacation to Disney World got me thinking which bag I should take there.

We will be there around 8 days. Most of the time will be at the parks (the 4 at DW), and the remaing time we will go to the outlet.

I'm thinking on only taking 1 or 2 bags since I don't want to overpack so I can have luggage space for the shopping...I wonder how many bags will fit in a carry on :graucho:

Initially I had thought to take a coach packable tote (the one that folds into a little pouch) and a dooney nylon 3 zipper CB so I could use the coach tote when flying there or while shopping and then put it back into its pouch and in my suitcase in case that I need to carry a shopping bag as my personal item on the plane. And then use the nylon CB on the parks, since I can see it being small enough to even carry it on a ride, but I wonder if it is too small.

Or should I take just one bigger bag, like a coach file bag or one of those convertible hobos so I can put the camera inside or a bottle of water. I haven't been there in a long time so I don't remember if they have lockers so you don't have to carry all the stuff all the time or while on rides.

what do you think? Any other ideas?

I agree with LG on both counts. I carried a crossbody (although not one as small as the 3 zip) while i was there on vacation and then bought several pieces while at the parks. They are a fun way to remind yourself of all the fun you had
