The Worst Hermes Color EVER!?

I love reading through this thread. I am relatively new to Hermes, but have stuck with black and gold bags up to this date, for the fear of colour regret. I do find that many colours look great during the season but don't seem to stand the test of time. Although I love most neutrals, one of my least favourite colours seems to be a neutral - it's etoupe. I have an etoupe picotin that I carry but I have to be honest I would never get it in a larger bag. It just doesn't make my heart sing when I carry it, it's a mousy brown/grey that I can't seem to love.

I find this thread amusing too. I gravitate to colors that are deemed to be ugly by others. I have a Toundra box B that I think is wonderful but it has been mentioned here several times as awful. Etoupe is so popular but I find it muddy and awful on me.
Not H, but I have an olive Vernis LV alma that I adore but I’ve seen commentary that it looks like a poop color.
I have never met a green that I didn’t love.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I’m not one for bright colours but I like Blue Jean - I sold my BJ bag and I’ve missed it all summer  On the other hand, although I love neutrals I dislike Etoupe very much (too muddy). It’s just personal taste, I wouldn’t take offence at someone else’s preferences, and one of these days I hope to pick up a replacement BJ bag at a bargain basement price - it being so unpopular and all  :graucho:

As others, I do not like Blue Jean, but remember when it was one of the hardest colors to get in a Birkin.
In full disclosure, I do have Blue Jean bag.... I sometime use my bags that are no longer worthy of getting carried as knitting bags or magazine holders.
:laugh:I like your repurposing!!

Colour regret. It is real:blushing:ITA, you may like it now but what about ten years from now? Black is a safe choice for me. :flowers:

This thread really tickles me. At least two of my bags are from colors that repulse other tpf folk: sanguine and vert anis. I LOVE those two colors! This all reminds me of the old saying "One man's meat is another man's poison."

I agree. I almost bought a Sanguine alligator bag and I'm sure I'd love VA. Both lovely wearable Summer colours for me.

I've ordered Etoupe bags twice only to end up with other choices. I still think Etoupe looks pure fabulosity on others but I'll stick with it's Etain close cousin.

This thread is making me second guess some of the Birkin bags/colors I have on my wish list like Rose Pourpre and Jaune Amber. Will I still love those colors and want to carry them 5 years from now. Maybe I really should stay with neutrals...currently carry a B30 in Gold.

Oh for heaven’s sake dear, buy what you love and don’t worry about what a few complete strangers on an anonymous forum think (even me!). For everyone who decides to not get a color that makes their heart sing and “plays it safe” with gold, etoupe or black, there are a hundred others who think black is boring, gold looks like baby doo-doo, and the vaunted etoupe looks like mud. Also, you have no idea if any of us opinionated folks here on tPF have any style whatsoever. :amuse: The only person you must know and be true to is yourself. If Rose Pourpre and Jaune Ambre make your heart beat faster, you can certainly do some gorgeous things with those colors. Women of style are stylish in part because they do their own thing. (But don’t take my word for it!)

I agree with this 100%.
Although I am a self-described boring handbag colour person, doesn't mean everyone should follow my boring colour selection, lol!!

For a single post that states a worst colour choice, there are hundreds that love the colour.

I like what @QuelleFromage said. The more people hate a colour the easier it'll be able to get and the more outstanding it'll look. Have faith in yourself.

Brava! I can't see which exact post you're referring to but you nailed it for this thread!
