Yeah - sorry about the almost off topic musings about yaks. But I justify myself as I desperately needed revenge for the many hours I have gone through scarf threads and endured much 'yakking' about big cats and all things 'carre sur mon carre' and 'tohu bohu' etc. And revenge as we all know is a dish best served cold!

Revenge of the Yaks. Sounds like a good movie title. Pack animals must get mad sometimes. :smile1:

Originally, we were speculating on the sports that SS2013 would be about. It is true, Les Tambours, that the big cat scarves H scarves are getting to be so many that H is in danger of becoming the French Ferragamo.

OH yes, and all the yak jestings were in sport themselves of course.

Did Uno do this to us on purpose, do you think? Announce something was coming and then left us all to stew with our crazed imaginations? But then Uno - and friends - are doing us all a valuable favour so I forgive.

I see what you mean about the French Ferragamo and you have put into words something that had been slightly bothering me over the last few years. But Hermes is a broad church and long may it remain so. Besides my feet are too wide for Ferragamo!

I await Uno's bark with considerable impatience and I haven't finished with Autumn Winter 2012 yet . There are worse obsessions to have than silk, ink and artistry so I'm going to indulge that obsession!

Thank you, Uno! So exciting!

Usually the theme scarves are only a few items of the collection, so there's plenty to look forward to besides sports-themed scarves.

Reprints, huh? Well, I was a fencer in my university days, so I wouldn't mind a reissue of the very old Grygkar "La Traite des Armes" in modern colors.

There is another old design, I think it was called Les Bolides - race cars with some flowers in the corners. Designed by Mrs. Dumas, I believe. That would be a treat to see re-issued too.

Other H sport-themed scarves... There are all the golf ones, of course. Les Becanes would make the most darling 70 vintage. Spinnakers and the other sailing ones are fun too. Les Plaisirs de l'Hiver I think has a few ice skaters on it

The only one I'm pretty sure H will pass on is the Champions one, unless they want to be very ironic about France's national football team's performances lately :smile1:

sophieg, congratulations, you get a prize.

You guessed correctly - twice!

You must be good at sports!

:ps:

The reprints will be:

Spinnakers
Les Bolides
Mexique
Mors a la conetable
Les voitures a transformation

Thank you, Uno! Mexique, with the Aztec God in the center, Mors a conetable, with the rococo curls and volutes of a 80's so-called "status scarf," and Les voitures, wow, those go back to the 80s and even earlier.

I loved that little Aztec God. I'm glad he's returning. Wasn't t there some Mayan prophecy about the world ending--b/c their calendar runs out, or something like that--in 2012? In that case, Mexique would probably be very appropriate to wear!
(Or, let's just say H is trying to stay on the good side of all the Pre-Columbians!) :graucho:
