I don't know about cruelty free but I have my fingers crossed for a scarf depicting dressage - can any experts think of possible re-issues. What was that scarf featuring dressage horses of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art?

Apart from dressage, horse-racing (Finish? the cushions and candles are already about ) we've just had Jumping, archery (sounds like that is covered :graucho:) polo again, motor sport (there must be a scarf featuring a Bugatti in at full throttle - or am I confusing and thinking too much about the Loro Piana blanket in the window in Sloane St?). Winter sports, as someone previously pointed out, skiing, speed skating, ice dance.

Maybe H are going to depict really obscure minority sports from far flung regions. Apart from yak racing there is also camel racing (OK, not so obscure actually) cliff diving...

Bungee jumping. Now that hasn't been done ever. Hey, papertiger, is the Real Escuela the dressage scarf you were thinking of? Hopefully, here's a link:

I saw piglet racing on the news this morning - that would be cute - but more of a stunt than a sport alas.

When the list of designs does come out ( hurry great Uno, hurry!) I am going to be devastated now if yaks don't feature. But Vent Portant II will partially make up for it.

Piglet racing works best if the piggies are greased first. (Loser becomes bacon :graucho:).

I like Vent Portant II, too. It's not a super-busy design. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around some of these super-busy designs of the last couple of seasons. I like a HS that blends in as part of the overall look, not necessarily one that shouts, "look at me."

I too do not understand why there have been so many busy designs lately- the combination of a design that looks like entropy on silk with a flashy cw- the scarf enters the room before you do!:wtf:

Sorry, Hello Hermes, for yakking too much about the yaks.

Toujours chic, entropy on silk with a busy cw? Do you have an example?

I would have to look through the booklets since I did not buy any myself- not my taste. Just based on what I remember from visits to the boutiques and looking in the cases, some of the loud cws of Au Fil du Carre, Inveresse, and even Kimonos were veering into silk chaos to my eye. Graf was explosive and disorienting in most of the cws I saw.

I liked the espirt aignou (am misspelling it)--the Japanese motif as it was not overly busy, and compared with the alternatives, practically serene.. Espirt has some white space between motifs which rested the eye. But I only got--kept, is more accurate--one Au Fil, (the aqua/orange cw) and returned several Inveresse and Kimonos. When I first saw Kimonos, it seemed delightfully different but after a while, all the cws looked alike to me. Graf was indeed explosive. Mythologies Phoenix didn't show enough feathers when it was tied.

I only bought the black Au Fil GM c/s. I did buy the noir and the rose poudre Kimonos twill and cw05&07 of the GM c/s. None of the other designs mentioned. I am finding it harder and harder to love the new designs. I fear Laboratoire is headed in the direction of H.M., especially certain cws.

Yeah - sorry about the almost off topic musings about yaks. But I justify myself as I desperately needed revenge for the many hours I have gone through scarf threads and endured much 'yakking' about big cats and all things 'carre sur mon carre' and 'tohu bohu' etc. And revenge as we all know is a dish best served cold!
