Frankly, I can't go anywhere without my yak. Someone needs to schlep my stuff! Plus, the yak is a portable refrigerator! Milk the yak and you get yoghurt that'll allow you to live for 100 years!

Yes, Mindi B and toujours chic, there are yaks on the La Femme aux Semelles scarf! What good memories you guys have!

I bet those La Femme yaks were doing a qualifying race! Toujours, that cw of the prieres du vent (spelling botched) is very nice. Have never seen that cw before.

That's the scarf! There's a horse at the back of the baggage train but I'm sure the other animals have horns - yaks perhaps??? I don't think musk oxen have been much domesticated. I wasn't much a fan of that scarf but I really like it in the monochrome colourway.

Visited my local store yesterday and they were not giving away any news about next year's scarves. They were much more concerned about how I felt about this season.

I, too, often got questioned about where I liked the current collection (have not been in the store for awhile). Don't understand why b/c if I liked it, I bought it. Cynical ole me, I have to believe this is a selling technique designed to get the customer to really focus on the merchandise at hand and think about the design. I'm not so cerebral. If the color compliments my coloring, that's what matters. Plus, the thing I like about fashion is how it changes from season to season. Variety. The shock of the new. Like you, Les Tambours, I like anticipating what's coming down the pike and looking forward to it. H is a fashion leader so there's always something to look forward to.

Fortunately the SAs in my store me know me so well ( ie that I am not rolling in cash and have to think very carefully about what I buy) that I think this is not much of a sales technique. This time for instance my response was ' not thrilled but there are a couple of highlights' compared to my tongue hanging out drooling behaviour over everything about the Year of India. Like you if I really like it they will already know about it - the various incarnations of this thread are supremely useful for that. There was some consternation in the store that the athletic/sport theme was a year too late but they did reassure me it was sport for us; ie a gentle stroll perhaps. Nothing to break a sweat over.

A reissue of Prieres du Vent would be nice but just at the moment I want more yaks!

Les Tambours, I'm not very practiced in catching yaks, but will this do?

Les tambours Isn't it impressive how much more than a birkin a Yak will schlep?

Yaks are really the only way to go. Plus, H could develop a new market making saddle blankets for yaks.

Wow! Mountaineering is a sport with yaks! I do have a bit of a fetish for luggage and outdoor kit so I patiently await the Hermes yak luggage collection - that will sure take up the world's supply of barenia in no time. None of that pale angular airline roll-on stuff made from canvas.

Can we think of any more cruelty-free sports involving so unusual - and so sweet tempered and photogenic - an animal?

To a different part of the world-

Maybe koala tree climbing or kangaroo hurdles or wombat wrestling or platypus free-style swimming?

Speaking of which, wouldn't it be nice to see a reissue of Reve d'Australie?

I don't know about cruelty free but I have my fingers crossed for a scarf depicting dressage - can any experts think of possible re-issues. What was that scarf featuring dressage horses of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art?

Apart from dressage, horse-racing (Finish? the cushions and candles are already about ) we've just had Jumping, archery (sounds like that is covered :graucho:) polo again, motor sport (there must be a scarf featuring a Bugatti in at full throttle - or am I confusing and thinking too much about the Loro Piana blanket in the window in Sloane St?). Winter sports, as someone previously pointed out, skiing, speed skating, ice dance.

Maybe H are going to depict really obscure minority sports from far flung regions. Apart from yak racing there is also camel racing (OK, not so obscure actually) cliff diving...
