Help. I love the Echec au roi in the poudre colorway.I put myself down for it asap. I have Geometrie Cretois in the same colorway, with poudre , greys and the GC has some coral to it as well. Is it redundant to have both? My sa says yes, but I love soft taupes and blush colors.

I am trying not to buy tons of shawls, but there are so many I want and love and I still need to get a pretty blue one. I have Concours in mind for that. Yes I know late to the party and all of that.

If you like it (and can afford it) go for it. I tried the GM today, but it made me look ill as I'm blond.

Sorry I can't quote anybody,

Just to say the denim pointus have been there at least a season so I doubt they're SS'13

Pique Fleuri de Provence seems very popular as both GMs disappeared faster than I could say 'Ou est la ville de Grasse'? LOL I am interested the Carres too but I can't help thinking they are very like many Liberty print shirts I have :shrugs: still, I do think it is my duty to buy one, so I really hope there is a cw for me.

Other 90s (besides I:heart:Flowers) are soooo busy and I have enough busy scarves (AW12's Coup de Fouet came as such a relief) but I can't help liking photo-finish (I wonder is enough to buy though).

I am really pleased that ClF has introduced new people to 70s, it's such a practical size for Spring and Summer.

I quite like Coach (70) as it reminds me of the illustrations of my childhood storybooks but I don't know if I'm in-love, maybe IRL :graucho:

Others are even more cartoony and I already have a couple of smaller scarves like that (Jaime mon Carre and Printemps-Ete 69/Automne-Hiver 70, even Amis Pour la Vie X 3) I don't need more.

As I am growing more conservative with cws H is going the other way but I really don't have room for more than a handful of clashing neon-bright silks.

I am always fascinated by which scarves get me to part with my ever-decreasing stash of cash, for H too no doubt.

I love your musings, paper tiger. I'd love to see Pique Fleuri, Photo Finish looks very cool to me, Les Trophees is pretty but lifeless to me and I love flowers is quite dull. The colors seem almost psychedelic, excerpt for 90 cm Echecs where they are either different or seem to work. You are always such a savvy, style certain shopper!

I am not really fussed on any of the scarves I saw yesterday here and on H.com. I quite liked the cartoon horse 70cm one but it's a lot of money for a cartoon like scarf. Maybe I will like something when I see others modelling them. Photo Finish looks interesting but not enough to buy. Not the best collection I've seen.

I saw various SS 2013 scarves today (and went home Le Mors à la conetable in CW48 - fuchsia/orange/anis).

The scarf is very vibrant, nearly neon, but gorgeous for rainy and cloudy days while waiting for nicer weather.
Anis is more like lime-green, the images on H.com did not get it.

I did not like Les Trophees (not that interesting) or I like flowers (boring CWs).

Really? I am fair skin with long dark hair.

I love these types of colors. I dislike primary colors and rustic colors on me .
I also love the print. ;)

If you love those colors, I don't think it's overkill to have both designs. If you find yourself wearing one much more than the other, you can always sell the other later. That is probably what would happen to me, but that's a very individual thing. I see many ladies here with similar designs, colors, etc, happily using them in rotation. Echec really seems lovely!

Hello All:

I have been thinking about the issue of us posting pictures from Hermes' website to TPF. If we post pictures here, it really adds to our discussion and excitement for the scarves. I would imagine that this could only drive up sales, which Hermes would really like!

So I was thinking, why don't we just ask Hermes if we are able to post their pictures here? It's better to ask and get a clear answer than to sit and wonder.

Maybe the legal statement on their website is to scare off counterfeiters who sell fake products using Hermes' pictures, and isn't meant for people like us, who just want to admire and discuss the new collections?

What do you think? Are there any volunteers who would be willing to send a letter to 24F or Madison Avenue and receive a reply correspondence? I would be willing to compose the message, but would rather someone else sent it. This is because I want remain anonymous on internet message boards for various reasons.

I'm interested to hear your comments....

But wasn't it that Uno asked us to be discreet with H SA's about this thread and all he/she posted?

In the good ole days, many of us were posting pics very innocently. But I have noticed that no one really posts the mass groupings of photos anymore. Whoever is "in the know" for that particular season just describes them with words now.

Plus, many of the SA's are members of TPF. I know mine is. She gets a real chuckle out of people complimenting her service and the nice experience at her store, and she mentions it to me periodically.

Thanks. I know it is not well loved here, but I really am loving it. I am sure I would use both. :)

Uno only began starting the new scarves thread like 2 or 3 seasons ago, much to everyone's gratitude. But then Uno pointed out the Hermes statement and wasn't comfortable doing the pictures any more, then dutifully began describing the designs but not posting pictures when they became available.

I had the same thought as you: just ask Hermes! I honestly think that attributing the pictures to Hermes and displaying their warning statement would be enough----they don't provide a catalog with all designs and colors, and we really need a way of preserving the designs and colorways for posterity. I really appreciate those old threads with pictures before my time (of collecting!).

Having the pictures here is providing free advertising for Hermes. I can't imagine that we are the reason for their copyright statement. We are not posting pics ahead of time, as they are now available from Hermes.

I am loving the new 70's (especially Un Amour de Cheval) I fell in love with the size with ClF and am so happy there are beautiful new ones to choose from.

i agree with you! the 70 is a great size nestgirl! i can't wait to play around with it....

If you take a look at the Reference Numbers for the scarves on hermes.com you will see some end in a rather high number. The reissue of Mors a la Conetable in bright green ends in 53 making it the fifty third colourway Hermes have made of the design. Do be aware though that not all colourways that are designed make it through the final 'edit' to a production run and actual issue to the shops. But all the silkscreens and colour instructions are filed away at the archive in the factory. Several really successful classic designs seem to have eternal appeal once 'reimagined' in today's colours.

wow that is really interesting to know! thank you so much les tambours! 53 CWs!!!!

Yes, bethc is correct that for reissues, the colors are new combinations. That is what I love about Hermes. The patterns and colorations are not mass produced. Some countries get completely different colorways than the United States and visa-versa because Hermes will do research to see which colors sell the best in which country they are producing for. Sorry I am so "wordy". I'm starting my first cup of coffee.......
Another point, if you see something you like, I have learned that it is best to buy now and think later. As we all have experienced in Hermes World, once it is gone, it is gone!:D

once again thank you for your expertise ladybaga! i have definitely learned that with H, better not to hesitate!

Thanks. I know it is not well loved here, but I really am loving it. I am sure I would use both. :)

i think you should buy what you love sjunky! it will still be a different pattern even if the same color schemes... look at me i buy the same design in multiple CWs!
