I am considering a Speedy 30 in empreinte. I would have preferred the 25 but it is no longer available in the 25. Because I don't carry a lot of stuff in my bag, I am concerned about the domed shape of Speedy 30 looking sunken or caved in if I don't have enough items inside to "poof" it out. If you have a Speedy 30, please share your observations. Thank you!

Finally took the jump and dropped my 1997 speedy 30 off to get all the outside vachetta replaced. I am so excited. It's being sent to Calif (my home state!) to get refurbished. I kept debating between getting a new one or redoing this one and it came down to the quality of the canvas. Also, I just love this bag. So...now the waiting begins. Hopefully it will only be 4 and not 6 weeks!

How much was the quote? Thanks. Can't wait to see your bag when it gets back. I had a chap replaced, my initials changed and they did a wonderful job. Even got a new duffle dust bag.

Hi everyone. Just got this speedy b 30. Should I be concerned at the double stitching at the lower right side of each leather piece? The stitching goes from single to double on all four bases. Also, one of them is not centered. See pics below and let me know. Thank you!

Eus, as a former avid seamstress, I can tell you that whenever one is sewing any material on a machine, the double stitching is necessary to keep the beginning and end of the sttiching seam locked in. This is done on all garments as well. Without the double stitching, the stitches would quickly pull out and unravel. The skilled sewer will always stitch over the beginning of the stitches ("stitch in the ditch") to make the double stitching less obvious. That is exactly what the crafts person who made your bag did. This is not a defect.

Speedy Emp in 25 is perfect in my opinion. But I have speedy canvas 30 and love it too. I also don’t carry a lot that’s why I like 25 better but 30 comes in handy when you need to bring stuff more like when travelling or in winter time. Get organizer if you don’t want a sloopy look. Plus it helps a lot in making your stuff tidy and easy to find.

Does anyone have any "advanced intel" as to whether LV will reintroduce Speedy 25 in empreinte again? Speedy 30 is too large for me and Speedy 20 is too small.
I just asked my SM this question yesterday. She had no idea if there were plans in the works to reintroduce the 25 empreinte in the future. It seemed like it caught them off guard that production has stopped on this popular bag. I managed to get one in noir. So glad I did because it's my favorite size!

I talked to LV customer service yesterday. The person there checked with her manager, who told her LV plans to resume production of Speedy 25 in Empreinte. No word on the date on which they will become available again. It gave me hope for the future!

sigh...are you going to use any products to protect the vachetta: AppleGuard or patina champ method? Just curious since I'm waiting for mine to come back from repairs. TIA

Yes, I’ve pre-treated it with Apple Gardé. I didn’t even touch it right out of the box; I wore disposable gloves and sprayed all the trims first thing when I got home.

I plan to give her a spa day after three months with the Apple leather conditioner, since my research on google and youtube caution that the Apple leather cleaner might be too harsh on vachetta.
