Hey beauties!
Recently joined the Speedy B club. I have been eyeing this bag now for a while and become pretty obsessed with the research. Hadn’t had much love for LV in over 10 years but this timeless little crossbody just caught my eye.
So I ended up taking the plunge and picking up a Mono 25 last week and was so excited! But when I came home I saw that the strap they gave me had been the same wrinkled-creased-cracked one I had seen at the store and had asked the SA to switch out.
Have any of you seen anything like this on a new SB? IMG_0612.JPG
The update is I went back in today to exchange my strap. The SA who had helped me before wasn’t there so another very efficient SA did my exchange. He said I should have never accepted that strap and advised always to check before I left the store. I kept thinking: Isn’t that kind of the point of having SA in the first place? That they’d really carefully inspect all items before wrapping and packing them up for us?

I got home and re-inspected the bag and now think that the zipper is not as smooth as I thought it would be, as all my other LV mono bags have been before. And that other strap? I had never seen anything like that. Has LV lowered their quality standards?

Let me know what you guys think. Will these creases happen to my new strap? Any other problems with Speedy B’s that I’m yet not aware of?

I have yet to use mine and I’m sure I will love it but can’t help but wonder about these imperfections.

That strap looks horrible, I’m very surprised.

So bad! I had never seen anything even remotely as bad in this brand. Can’t believe the other SA dared to pack that strap for such a pricey bag. It is not cool. And even if it wasn’t too pricey, all new items must be in perfect condition, regardless.
Now I’m left to worry about durability. Something that had never even crossed my mind when it came to LV.

The strap looks awful, I’m glad you were able to exchange!
I don’t find the Speedy B zipper very smooth. :/

Ugh tell me about it.
I think the strap thing has kinda ruined the excitement for me. I have a good strap now but still.
And the zipper could be the next issue I face. I don’t even want to start using the bag until I figure out the zipper in case I decide to return/exchange it.
This bag is readily available on LV site so if I must, I will have to endure the horrible judgement of the SAs when you return and replace order online. But what if I get another faulty bag?
Now I’m paranoid and think inspecting the bag in person is better.
I wonder if anyone here has had an experience like this one before with a Speedy B? SA service?

Wow. That strap was downright awful!!!

I got my speedy DA online & it was MIF and literally perfect. I wouldn’t be afraid to order online. If your CA is “judgy” - I’d find another one. Good luck!

When I bought my Speedy B 25 DE, I experienced something similar, even though not as bad. When I got home, I noticed that the strap had CLEARLY been used before because of where the wrinkling was. I had to head back to the store in a rush for them not to think I had worn the bag and returned it the next day. The SA that I had dealt with seemed to be judgmental, but exchanged the strap nonetheless. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but I really wanted the bag, so I kept her.
This was like two years ago. The bag has become one of my most used (if not the most) and I REALLY love her. She's been with me on my two vacation trips to the US and she'll be my companion when I go to Europe in July.
What I'm trying to tell you is that since you were able to exchange the strap, if you do love the style, keep her! I hope you build many happy memories with her.

My speedyb25 has never had a smooth zipper like my classic speedy, but I still love the bag. I use wax paper periodically like another post suggested.

I love this. Thank you for sharing. You are right. I shouldn’t let a bad strap ruin my excitement with a bag I’ve been wanting for a while. I played with the zipper today and it doesn’t seem to be that bad. I mean it’s not as smooth as my other LVs but it doesn’t seem to be faulty (“seems” is the operative word here. Jury is still out on zipper lol), just a bit hard right now. Will probably get softer in time.
I have a feeling this will be one of my most used bags ever so I’m probably going to just keep this one and forget about ordering another one.
Thank you, sweetheart. Now I think I might want a DE 25 as well. Lol. [emoji23]

Makes me feel a bit better to hear that it’s probably not just my bag but most Speedy B’s that have this “not so smooth” zipper issue.
And will definitely research the wax paper thing. Thanks, love.

You can bring the bag to the LV store and have that efficient SA help you wax the zip. Mine did it for me happily in a few mins!

Guys I have a consult!
I have yet to use my Mono 25 because of the rain!
It’s been raining non-stop and I’m terrified of staining the vachetta leather right after I wear my bag for the first time. Thinking I might need to switch to a Damier Ebene for now? It will rain a lot during the summer too.
Don’t know what to do. I am more of a Mono girl and so in-love with the bag I bought but I also want to use it! I’ve never been a DE fan until recently when I got a DE Mini PA. It’s so gorgeous and that red interior is wow. But Mono is so hippie cool and classic. Ugh. What a LV conundrum!
Should I just wear the Mono and let it get stained since it is inevitable anyway or get the DE and later (way later when I have the funds lol) get the Mono too just to alternate between the two depending on weather?
Help!!!

If you go to the Speedy Gonzales thread, there is a conversation there about Patina Champ method. The person said they used it on their mono with new vachetta, got caught in the rain, and there were no marks.

Hope it helps!

But also I have a speedy b 30 in mono and also want the been. LOL.
