Well I sort of did it bc I bought in January and my kids were on break so I did the the patina champ but it hasn't rained since so I don't know what it would do. Having said that, the patina is honey brown and I love it. It's really pretty. FYI, I leave my bag out on a shelf in my bedroom mostly and don't put it in dustbag.

I was going to suggest this as well. I just got caught in a rain storm with my mono speedy 30 (new Vachetta) and there were no spots after it dried. So happy I did the patina champ method. It does really work!!!
I have the b25 and the Monceau which is the predecessor to the PM. They are totally different bags as you know. Personally I don't love PM especially with all of the issues. I prefer the boxy Monceau and there are other non LV that are like PM but only one speedy b25 imo. Good luck with your choice.
I wonder if anyone here could give me any advice... I'm trying to decide between the My World Tour speedy b 30 in mono/black, and the speedy b 25 in damier ebene.
MWT Speedy 30:
+ I loooooove the look of the mono and black together, it makes my heart sing
+ 30 would be a good size for me as I tend to carry a lot during the week
- Mono might be too flashy/in your face for my work environment (it's not a conservative place but there isn't a single designer bag. My daily Saint Laurent black bags stick out like a sore thumb and get the occasional comment/look)
- Despite me carrying a lot of things, I'm only 5ft 1/155 cm and so the 30 might look like luggage on me if I wear it crossbody, which is my ideal carrying style
- Will need a bag organiser
Damier ebene in 25:
+ The size looks great on my petite frame when carrying crossbody
+ The checkered print looks more subtle for day to day
+ Doesn't need a bag organiser
- Not sure I will be able to carry my daily work essentials (card holder, empreinte key pouch, 6 key holder, 2-3 pouches/catch-alls in varying sizes, sunglasses/umbrella, plus a big water bottle and at least one snack
)
- The print doesn't make my heart sing as much as the mono with black.
- All my of LV SLGs are in mono or black empreinte (not a massive deal but something to consider)

I can share my experience this fall...I went with my mom into LV to purchase the MWT speedy b and came out with a DE speedy 30 instead. I just couldn’t pull the trigger on the bag. I think when I saw the MWT in person it didn’t wow me like I thought it would. I had sold my DE speedy b 25 because the opening drove me crazy. I suggest you go to a boutique and look at both bags. Try them on to see if in person the MWT still makes your heart sing. If so, then go for it. It’s your money and you know yourself best. I wouldn’t worry about coworkers. You make a good point about the opening on the 25. They didn't have a MWT speedy for me to look at (in fact the SA helping me didn't even know what I was talking about for a few minutes!) and unfortunately they didn't have any speedy 30s in stock for me to try on either. I think at this point I just need to decide whether to take a gamble on the MWT or stick to what I know will work (DE 25). I would buy both (
) but I limit myself to buying no more than 2-3 bags per year as I'm focusing on building my other savings.Thank you for the reassurance and for sharing your experience!

I think if you polish the hardware with a cloth once a month or so it should preserve it someone on here mentioned using brasso so that could be a possibility also
My monogram speedy 35 arrived yesterday and is currently out tanning need to get some patina going before I start to use it

Have you tried the patina champ method? People sing its praises on TPF and it should protect your bag as well as getting an advanced patina does!
