That makes sense, I guess. I've never owned a canvas bag so I don't know how that would work. Of course that would be different with an epi but I've not seen a slouchy epi, fortunately.
I'm cliche enough to want a bag from my birth year, so there's that

I use an insert with my preloved speedy. Works great.

Hi, I bought my speedy b 25 in de about two or three weeks ago and have used it couple of times. I just noticed the hardware on the side where you clip the strap has speckled black markings on it. It is quite prominent like as if it’s a splash of dirt but of course it’s not dirt, it’s like tarnishing. I’m so surprised as the bag is like brand new still...I’ll upload some pics but I’m not able to capture it clearly though. This is my first speedy, please could you tell me if that’s normal? I’m concerned as I’m planning on using this for years and it’s already doing this?

Are you able to wipe it off with a soft cloth? I was able to wipe mine off although mine was mostly on the underside of the ring.

No, it’s like little chips in it. Take it back to the store or send pics to your SA! I would not be happy with that!

Hi Speedy lovers. I had one before but only carried a few times and sold it as I decided I wanted something else (and here I am again!). I am now looking at purchasing one again as I love the classic style of the Speedy. But...trying to decide between monogram and DE and Classic vs Bandouliere. I think I can guess pros and cons but for the life of me I cannot decide!

I love the monogram look - I do like the vachetta when it has a patina but don't like watermarks or really dark coloring. The DE is pretty maybe a little more dressy (IMO) but I have read the leather on the strap on the bandouliere is not as soft as the vachetta.

Thoughts? Anyone with both styles - which one do you reach for more and why? TIA!

I had the DE speedy b25 and the strap is pretty stiff but softens with use but nothing like the vachetta. It’s the opening on the 25 that killed me and lead me to selling it. It was just too small! I’d love to get mono in the 30 but it rains a lot in Ohio so I cant justify buying a bag I can only use during good weather. Good luck on your choice!

Thank you for your input! Yes I know 30 is the right size. I also worry about the vachetta living in Minnesota with winter and rain! But it so pretty when it has a patina. I have thought about getting pre-loved so it already has a patina but I love NEW!

I would love to buy preloved but I have such a sensitive nose that if the person had makeup or perfume in the bag I can always smell it and it drives me crazy. Lol the patina is pretty for a while but then to me it just looks dark and dirty over time. I don’t have to worry about that in the DE. I have the Neverfull mm, Siena pm and favorite mm all in the DE. I have 2 SLGs in mono but they don’t have any vachetta on them.

Thanks totally valid points! I'm totally the same on scents...even with NWT items on auction sites I specifically ask!

I do like DE...lower maintenance and less in your face LV

If you like mono, search for forum or YouTube for patina champ method. I have a b25 in mono and after you get some patina, you should be able to use in bad weather (I'm told) I don't t get bad weather much.
