I purchased a diamond ring recently, and they inexplicably changed the shipping after checkout to an old address from years ago.

Luckily I have screenshots showing the address that I used to check out (the correct one) as well as the order confirmation that shows the change to the old incorrect address. I sent a message to Customer service right away asking them to change the shipping address back to the correct address, and they confirmed that they would do it and replied back with the correct address that they were changing it back to.

It was marked as delivered a couple of days ago, and when I checked the tracking it was delivered to the old/incorrect address. I sent them a message asking them what they are going to do about this. They said they are going to send someone to the location with a prepaid shipping label, and that I will be refunded once they have the item back. They know I am not there and do not know anyone there. I’m not sure how this is going to work out, but this is a new one for me.

I’m sure they will refund me eventually if needed, but what a mess.
Ugh. What a headache. I am sorry

Wow. Hopefully the people at that old address are honest.

So... they shipped to the wrong address, but you have to wait for them to receive the item back to receive a refund? I'm so sorry, girl... All I can say here is that I hope you purchased with Amex or similar...

Thank you! Ugh, it is annoying, but mostly because now I have to keep track of the process since I know they will have more “oops” moments down the line. Hopefully the consigner gets paid for it and doesn’t have to wait this process out also!

Update: the item never arrived to me, but they did refund me, so I guess it worked out ok.

I ordered a Black Chanel Mini Rectangular from the The Real Real. I ended up receiving a Navy Blue Chanel Mini Rectangular. I made a case with them and sent them photos. They approved the return. When they received it, they rejected my return and are still claiming it is black although it clearly is not. I am sadly having to report this now because I didn't get the item I ordered. The Real Real is now sending the bag back to me and refusing to issue a fair refund owed to me. I am beyond disappointed and shocked with how this is being handled. I feel like I am being scammed by them. In the photos, the BLACK bag I already own is on the right and the NAVY bag they sent me is on the left. I also included a copy of the snip from the listing which shows and lists the bag as black.

Your image does seem very lightened, but stiches tell the story anyway, if the stitches are blue then it's blue but if the stitches are black it's black. The code inside also shows whether a navy was made in that year or not. TRR is a super hot mess of a company so i hope it gets sorted for you.

Yes I took the photo in flash so you could truly see the blue tone of the bag. And yes the stitches were certainly blue. I wish I would've taken photos outside in the daylight so you could see even better. Well heck, they are sending it back to me so I am going to take more photos and try to keep fighting this. I ordered a less expensive item from them before and it was a positive experience so I figured I'd give them another chance. After this, no way will I ever do business with them again.

And thank you! I really hope it gets sorted too.

I also have another photo I took without flash that shows this item versus other black Chanel items I own. Again this was taken in yellowish indoor lighting, but I still think it shows the true color difference between the black items versus the navy bag.

Sorry to hear your experience, hope you could win the dispute! A question out of curiosity, I see you already have a black caviar mini rectangular, why did you buy another same one?

What do you guys think of the new insurance they are selling on their site. I think it is ridiculous.
I laughed about it, who is so desperate willing to pay extra 15% for an item just to be able to return? I’d rather add that 15% go shop in stores or shop with other consignments have great return policy.

Feeling TRR is desperate resorting to policies that in the long run will backfire on them
& personally for me, it's a turn off
If they hired "pros" that have knowledge & stop hiring mediocre listers, TRR wouldn't have
to have a new insurance policy in place. It is ridiculous & do agree with the above posts
