I’ve been chasing the Pochette Métis for 1.5 years now, but I didn’t formally go on any wait list until I was traveling out of state a couple of months ago and, on a whim, walked into an LV boutique and asked if they had one in stock. The SA said no but took my name and number and said she would call me if one came available. I didn’t expect to hear from her, but on Thursday evening she sent me a text message with the good news. It arrived today. On the one hand, I’m happy to have it, but on the other I’m not enamored with it. I had been hearing that the canvas on the new model is thicker and the monogram not as bright as in previous years. That appears to be spot-on. I like that the bag is more structured, but I don’t like how dull it looks. I’ve attached a photo comparing it to the canvas on my Neverfull. The difference is very noticeable, I think. I have a twilly on the handle to keep it from getting soiled from handling as I struggle with whether or not to return it. Feeling very indecisive about this bag.
It looks perfect to me. Your Neverfull is older, hence the canvas maybe darkened over time?! I wouldn’t be bothered at all with the difference in canvas as long as everything else is perfect about the PM. But to me it sounds more like you don’t love the bag anymore, and it’s less the difference in canvas. Return it if that’s the case. Someone else who’ll get it will be over the moon.

Thank you (and others) for the different perspective. I think it’s always a little jarring when something you’ve eagerly anticipated doesn’t look exactly the way you expected out of the box, but otherwise the bag seems perfect - no glazing issues, excellent stitching, good alignment, etc. All of the PMs I’ve seen “in the wild” have been from older production runs, and the canvas was shinier and the monogram brighter, so that’s what I always imagined when I thought of myself carrying this bag. I do agree with someone who mentioned that the monogram on my PM is more subtle, and for a daytime, everyday bag - which is what I intended for this bag to be - a more understated monogram might be preferable. The look and feel of the canvas on this bag actually reminds me of my vintage Speedy 25 from the mid-90s, and that is a beloved piece in my collection (I recently had the vachetta replaced and started carrying it again). I’m not going to be impulsive about this decision because I do love the bag, and it took me a long time to acquire it, but I’m going to try to be honest with myself about whether or not I love this particular bag with this particular matte canvas. It arrived in the evening, so tomorrow morning will be the first time I’ll actually see it in natural light!

That’s smart thinking. Definitely sleep over it (a few days) and make a decision that you’ll hopefully don’t regret. The bag is too expensive to lose sleep over it. Don’t keep it just because it’s a “hard to get” bag or because many ppl have it. You gotta love it, not just liking it. Good luck with your decision!

Where is yours made and how recently? Really hoping mine looks like this haha

Hey guys,
think about getting one. Since the Empreintes are the only ones available, I'm not quite sure which color to pick. Either marine rouge or black. Normally red is my favorite color, but I'm a little bit worried about any color-transfer or seeing stains more easily :/

I know what you mean about about not being excited . It might be you need a different print if your not feeling the monogram. When I saw this bag in the black I was not impressed . Fast forward to when I found the reverse monogram version in December and I feel complete in love with it! For a price of LV bag you should love the bag. Not every bag or print or for everyone . Good luck with your decision

Thanks for posting. This happened to me last week and they swapped the strap out for me. They said it was a manufacturing defect. I’m glad I noticed it!
Same. I just noticed that my strap has this issue. I’ll have to have it remedied. The bag was sent to me from Las Vegas, so it wasn’t possible for me to notice it at the time of purchase.

(Edited to add the photo that I sent to the SA for her advice on how I should handle this since of course I can’t physically return to the store where I purchased the bag. I think the difference between the clasps is extremely noticeable.)

I was Christmas shopping (for others ) at the mall a week ago with no LV thoughts on my mind, until I peaked inside the LV store as I was walking by and saw on display a mono pochette metis just sitting out. So I, of course, u-turned and went inside. I literally stood by that display and wouldn't let anyone touch it until it was mine turn with an SA. I ended up purchasing it and handing it nicely to my hubby that night and told him to take back all my other Christmas, because I just found the perfect gift. I finally got to open it up today! I thoroughly examined it, and it's perfect. Made in France and date code is SR4199, so it's literally brand spankin' new.
Merry Christmas!!

The thick, dark canvas looks great. It reminds me of my 16 year old Speedy25. The older, thicker canvas is so much more durable and luscious than the never, softer, flexible canvases. I have a 2019 SpeedyB 30 and the canvas is nice, but not as nice as my much older bag. Keep it, it looks great.

Don’t put the bandeau or twilly on the handle, after you take it off, the handle will stick out, it won’t be flat!!!
