I welcomed this stunning beauty today. I really never never never wanted a Métis! If someone would have told me 4 weeks ago I would buy one, I would have laughed at them. But certain Instagram posts and certain bloggers and FB groups changed my mind all of a sudden and now think she is such a stunningly classic beauty.
She arrived today and to me she is perfect (inspected her thoroughly). I was hoping to get one with a near perfect alignment of the pattern and that’s what I got. So happy!
If you look closely from a certain angle the small leather strap above buckle seems slightly crooked to the left. I don’t mind because I know the vachetta will soften anyway.
One question: is it normal that the canvas under the flap is so „bulky“ and creased when you open the bag?

You can, just like the Metis strap. I use a monogram strap on my Empreinte Cream and love it!
Yes it's normal. It needs to be unattached in between the peices as the strap is sewn to the top. Congrats on getting one! It's a great bag.

Those marks appear to be the natural grain of the leather. Every bag is unique in that sense. That said, if it bothers you, maybe try exchanging it?

Hi there -- I just measured and the zipper itself is roughly 8" long, but with it open you get about 7.25" of clearance because the zipper pull is quite big. I have an iPhone X and it fits just fine, although I have to put it in at an angle.
