A fun Pandora question was posed to me at the hair salon today: at what point did you start designing your bracelet, rather than just collecting beads that you like?

My hair stylist has 2 Pandoras. She has never really thought about the overall look of her bracelet. She has just been adding beads as she gets them and when her first bracelet was full, she got a new bracelet and started adding beads there too. She is always looking at my bracelets and we spend some time at each appointment admiring each other's new beads. Her collection is really special, but the arrangement is funny. I suggested that she take her beads off both bracelets and rearrange them.

Her reaction: "You can do that?!?!?!"
My response: "Well, you don't have to have 2 Christmas trees right next to each other just because you got them the same day if you don't want to!" LOL

So for her, she began to design her bracelet after collecting a bracelet and a half of beads…
For me, I think it started as soon as I chose my second Murano glass bead… when I had to decide whether to match or just to coordinate. Now I collect with a purpose. How about you?
Since I have few leather bracelets now, I sometimes switch beads. I even sell some of them, because I no longer wanted to follow in that particular direction. Redesigning is fun, and considering how many new beads are coming several times a year, I think it is a good thing to do.

I wonder if anyone has had the misfortune of getting a preztel charm for xmas??? i can imagine they will b retired pretty soon!!! along with that darn wish bone!. pandora will have such a abundance of them cos it didnt sell, then they will be given away as freebie gift, cos even at 70% discount nobody wants it.
Wow, I was actually waiting for pretzel and got it immediately, and I know a lot of women who wear wish bones necklaces (not in pandora itself) as a good luck symbols or charms or pendants. With all the cultural differences, these symbols indeed deserve respect too.:wtf:

I don't like the Pandora wishbone charm but personally have nothing against wishbone jewellery because of what it represents.

Also, the pretzel is meant to be one of those country charms, though they would have done better with the Brandenburg gate for Germany instead of a pretzel!
Yes I think a lot of people thought the pretzel was an odd choice to represent Germany and I think they could have come up with a better idea. It's like saying Germany is only known for its pretzels! However one person on here did take quite the offence to some comments made in fun, which ended in many having to apologise, thus making the atmosphere quite uncomfortable on here, so perhaps we should better move onto a different topic - though I agree with you.

Yes I think Missydora gets it now. Time for the bashing to stop.

Yep, that's what I mean by comments on forums coming across differently to how they were meant. I could see they were posted in good humour, but maybe others didn't.
Well that depends. I could also see ladies mucking about and the intial comments made me smile, but I can see how someone owning or liking those charms could get offended, regardless of it was intentional or not. It's good to know when to stop and this is a good lesson for us all.

In your heart of hearts, would you be totally indifferent if someone was blatantly disliking your charms to that extent? I can't remember who, but someone did comment that an OP who owns these is bound to show up and that it would be ackward, so there was an awareness of naughtiness.

Missydora, please now don't be the one who takes things too seriously. We are all allowed to have an opinion, to discuss, to share, to learn, so need to leave as clearly no one wants you to. Unless you feel offended? I hope not. Your comments made us all smile, perhaps the joke went a little bit far but life goes on, or as they say, don't sweat the small stuff! Anyway, you can't leave us when you have all those goodies on the way! ;)

P.S. I hope you are reading this.

Pretzel is an european charm, and pretzel itself is sold abundantly at every German food store and restaurants. Seattle are has quite a few pretzel places, and for me pretzel is representing of good food and bread itself. It is one of the few foods I actually like in USA. I don't like any of the buildings or churches Pandora made, but for each its own, and imposing on others the opinions how bad some charms are or some charms to be more deserving than others were at least weird.
Pandora use poppy charm for both England, and USA, but poppy may mean something in other cultures too.
