In the end Pandora is a business and businesses strive to make money. So in order to make more money and have a larger presence they need to appeal to as many audiences as they can while still holding true as much as they can to their current customers. It's obviously challenging, but it has to be done to grow and continue to succeed. It's hard to please everyone, but they are obviously selling a lot of pave charms and such otherwise they wouldn't continue making more. Like other people said...it is probably a fad and eventually the pave will die down a little. For me, I like the pave...I don't have many of them, but I love the ones I have!

I think you are quite right. I do like some paves although I am not a big lover of them, but I think they must sell really well otherwise why come out with more and more pave designs. I just wish they would be more original with their designs. Most of the pave designs are either hearts or in a round style.

I will tell you what puts me off a bit - I work in a school and work with the year 11s and year 8s. The year 11 girls just love their Pandora. They wear the rings especially and the bracelet. I wear mine at work and often they have the same rings or charms, or they have the ring I like and it really puts me off as these girls are often the *****y horrible ones.

I like your bangle that Chinese Culture one. love the Lantern charm

Thanks! I wish the bangle was 18cm. The 19cm that I have is a bit too big so I have to put some charms on. I normally wear it layered otherwise it's too big on. The size 17cm is quite small and fits with nothing on. If I start putting charms on it will become too tight.

That is very possible they are trying to catch the eye of younger people. The problem is that younger people are very fickle, they like things that are trending and then move on to something else. I am thinking of all the Shamballa bracelets that were so popular a year or so ago, now not so much. Or Thomas Sabo jewelry. Pandora has been around for over 30 years so they should endure like Tiffany but they need to create charms and other jewelry that appeal to different age brackets and incomes.

I definitely think younger people are wearing Pandora. I work in a school and the girls wear Pandora. That is their choice of jewellery. They especially love the birthstone rings and the majesty rings. In fact a lot of them wear several rings. They wear Pandora bracelets too but because they can't afford the charms, I don't think these are as popular. Getting a few charm for birthday and Christmas would take them forever to build up, whereas rings are instant and are cheaper. Kids are fickle and it will be a trend thing for them, whereas for us here, we are the loyal life long customers.

Beach theme bracelets are lots of fun to create. I have three beach bracelets that I wear when I'm on vacation. They have nice teal and blue Murano beads to complete the look. I'm not sure if you can find them but they used to have an adorable octopus and a gold seahorse dangle. Other great beach themed charms are the palm tree with gold coconuts and the flip flop dangle. I don't see them anymore on Pandora's site but you may be able to get them from a reputable seller on eBay. Camera, fish, ship and suitcase are still around though.

It is, I have a dolphin and the enamel seahorse. I've been hunting around reputable sites and such:D

Here are some:

perlenodense.dk
the jewel hut
beadazzle
johngreed
acotis
mememe accessories
argento.......all online websites

ebay: bejewelled, charming888.

Are these all reputable sites Tabitha? I did see charming888 but they are much cheaper than pandoras own website so assumed they were fake charms:blushing:

Yea they are all legitimate websites. Mememe is a bit rubbish though as their stock is old. They seem to be selling off all the old stock. They don't have new charms. It's always the same ones on there too. Charming888 is an ebay seller and all their stuff is genuine. Perlen is great and all the others are authorised Pandora sites. The ebay sellers sell the real thing too.

I went into town to have a look at the Pandora clear cz heart pave clip from the Valentine's collection but they didn't even have it! They said it hasn't come into stock yet! They have it online but I wanted to see if I liked it first. What a pain.

That's crazy that girls that young wear Pandora to school! I live in Wisconsin in the US and barely even see adults wearing Pandora. I work at a college and have probably seen one instructor and zero students wearing it.

I agree with you that if I saw 11 year olds wearing the same charms as me it would be a little weird, especially if they are snobby! My mother-in-law has been getting my 2 year old and 4 month old girls charms for different things and they will be allowed to wear them at special times. I don't think they even have an pave ones!

It's interesting how different areas in the world are so different even with jewelry! I think if I lived in, or by, a big city I would see more Pandora...but I live in a small area so I don't notice it as much. Who knows! :)

Pandora is big in the UK. Year 11 are aged 15-16 and year 8s are aged 12-13. Their parents just buy them whatever they want and the parents don't even work. They live of benefit (of the state).

I have questioned the authenticity of the Ozzie site just because the prices are so low but many on this site say they are genuine. A few others that sell genuine Pandora are JewelFirst and UnforgettableMemories in the UK, although their stock seems to be diminished and pandorastore.be in Belgium. The Belgian store has quite a few retired charms in their Outlet store right now including the palm tree and coconut charm and the divine seaside Kiss with genuine blue topaz. Sometimes when you are on eBay trolling the charms check the sellers name to see if it is a brick and mortar jewelry store selling online. Their offerings can be considered genuine especially when they are selling high priced jewelry from other lines such as David Virtue, Lagos or David Yurman. In Canada there is a store in British Columbia called Charm Junction that also sells retired charms. I have bought quite a few from them. The only issues I have sometimes is that the prices become outrageously high the rarer the charm becomes so you have to be quick.

Hi Ladies,

I need a little help.
I have a friend in Europe who wants to buy Pandora jewelry. I already cautioned her about Ebay sellers, but now she sent over a website name asking if I thought it was authentic.

The site is salejewelryonline.com

I do not wear Pandora jewelry but I am always very suspicious about any sites claiming to sell authentic products at a discount. Also, the verbiage in the About page just makes me more suspicious. But again, I do not know the brand that well so I don't know.

What do you think? I would hate for her to pay good money for counterfeits.

Thank you for your help.

Ps. I also welcome any recommendations where I could send her if she is looking for authentic Pandora pieces. It has to be an online source but she does have a shipping address in the US as well.
I think this is a counterfeit site. Right off the bat, the dead giveaway is that they are selling 14k "gold" charms for $20.00. Gold is an international standard and no one in their right mind would sell a gold charm that normally cost $150.00 for $20.00. Secondly, in the FAQ they don't actually answer whether or not the charms are authentic. China has produced some amazing fakes but they are still fakes. Usually I check out the Muranos first because that is the area where the red flags go up. China produces lots of designs that Pandora has never produced but in the case of this site, even though all the charms are the correct designs I don't believe it to be real.
