I completely agree with your thoughts. I too find it very interesting and still can't really give a logical explanation on why I'm now so attached to collecting these charms since I'm a guy. I know these bracelets are intended for women and that it's just not normal to see a guy wearing one (lol), but I don't care! Surprisingly enough, where I live they're not that common yet so even though I wear it daily, I haven't actually received any hate on it or on the fact that I'm a male wearing Pandora. In fact, I've received a lot of compliments from both guys and girls!

Some of the reasons why I decided to get a bracelet are, well, because I could; because I love mini-sized everything (the level of detail on the turtle charm is amazing); because there were times during this year where I felt extremely depressed, up to the point that I asked myself if it was still worth living. But then with the help of my few real friends I remembered how blessed and lucky I am, so I got a bracelet with 5 charms with the purpose of reminding me of my achievements and things worth living for. 3 months have passed and now I have a full bracelet (lol this addiction thing you talk about is so true because I was gonna stick to just 3 charms but then I got anxious when I saw complete bracelets and (gotta admit) felt a little competitive so I decided to fill it up. Also because jewelry is a sign of opulence where I live). I've felt a lot happier and comfortable with myself ever since with just staring down at my wrist and looking at those charms which remind me that better times will always come and that we must always be grateful. So I could basically say that these charms were a life saver.

Oh I must add that it gives me a reason to look forward to the future because my ultimate dream is going to Dubai and I thought that getting the camel charm would be nice were I gonna travel there  I'll post a photo of my bracelet as soon as I can

Wow, Guccisauro, thank you for sharing your story. That's really touchng and you bring up several truths! The power in these bracelets is reminders to what's important. Tokens you carry with you that symbolize great meaning. It's so fascinating that 100 of us could see 100 different meanings in the same piece of silver :) Your story is so profound, these pieces of meaning saved your life! And gave you hope and experiences to look forward to you commemorate on your bracelet. That is beautiful.

And another less profound but equally true point: we love miniature and cute-ified versions of anything, particularly symbols of importance! I get to play with dollhouses at work and love all that mini stuff; and c'mon "fun size" candy?!

I would LOVE to hear more about the symbols that are important to you, and I would especially love to see your bracelet!

Thanks again for telling us your story.I hope you get your camel someday soon!

Im so excited! I started my 3rd bracelet last night! Starting it out simple for now- no set "theme" yet in mind like I did with my Disney bracelets. I'm excited to see what this one will develop into as time goes on :smile1:

I'll second what Stumbeline said. Thank you, Guccisauro, for sharing your story. It's like a little gift to think about.

I bought my bracelet to commemorate my having faced and conquered an irrational fear. It was such a silly fear, I can't even bring myself to describe it. I was going to buy just two beads, but I ended up filling the bracelet with beads representative of all the things in life that are most important to me. And muranos in all my favorite colors. It gives me a certain happiness and tranquility when I examine it in idle moments. It reminds me that I have a life filled with good things, good friends, good family, and I have the capacity to conquer problems and fears even though sometimes I doubt I do. So like Stumbeline says, a bracelet can have a power just like art can. And it sounds like yours Guccisauro has that power too.

Please don't ever doubt that your life is not wonderful, marvelous, amazing, and worth every moment that you live, Guccisauro. It sounds like, not only are you blessed with some very good friends, you enjoy both a joy and sensitivity that many people lack. Those things will increase as you grow older. I am probably several times your age and this I know.

Again, thank you for sharing your story! I wish you much happiness in the future!

(By the way, you might check out Redbalifrog charms, which are compatible with Pandora bracelets. They plan to introduce more guy-charms in the future. They recently released a bracelet with a very clean, simple aesthetic geared toward male charm lovers.)

Hi ladies, haven't posted in a while (haven't had time because of uni/work/general life getting in the way). I now have three bracelets two full one part filled.

I have had 7 charms this Christmas - the three HCA charms (two of them aren't on these pictures), the Olympics charm, the red murano and the Chinese year of the tiger charm and the open work leaf charm!

When I finished reading your post and Stumbeline post I had tears in my eyes.. I realized that you are right, we hid behind these little charms some feelings and some good or not so good moments in our life that marked us somehow.. I like your words!! Never stop dreaming and hoping for better days!

I read your story. You have a good heart and soul the worlds needs more people like you! Sometimes it gets very hard and challenging with the things we r faced with wondering what is the purpose? Why we have to go through the things we do, it can get extremely overwhelming. Having good people around you, reflecting on the good things that has happened throughout your life and all the obstacles you have overcome will give you strength and optimism for the future. Carry on with your good work by being so open and honest on this thread you have already made a difference to our hearts and minds. Please post pics of your bracelet I wish my man would wear a mandora.
