My beloved two-tone. I don't wear this as much as I should. I think I need a safety chain!

I love the two-tone, nice bracelet

Hi ladies, haven't posted in a while (haven't had time because of uni/work/general life getting in the way). I now have three bracelets two full one part filled.

I have had 7 charms this Christmas - the three HCA charms (two of them aren't on these pictures), the Olympics charm, the red murano and the Chinese year of the tiger charm and the open work leaf charm!

Oh everyone shops on Perlenodense here!:D

Perlen stock Pandora charms and are cheaper because it's a Danish website. The P&P is free, but you can pay for recorded delivery. They are all genuine charms. It's great for a bargain. Pandora cancelled their contract with Perlen a while ago but then decided to provide them with limited new stock to sell.

Is the delivery free for Pandora then? Their website says free delivery but on selected items. So I am not sure if Pandor is included or not. Cheers.

Oh I think you should definitely wear it more because you are at work most of your life, so why not? Even though it's extravagant but it's only material things.:smile1:
I work full time. So talking about wearing my Pandora at work sometimes concerns me and worry if the cluncky noises of my Pandora has annoyed my colleagues or not. I type a lot and use laptop all the time during work. No one has complainted but I hope that they don't really mind rather than have been putting up with me. I do try not to make too much noise though. But I still wear it to work every day :).

Oooh, what are your thoughts as to why Pandora is so addictive? After all, it's just a bracelet on but we do seem to be pretty obsessed with them! I think we love them because they are pretty, sentimental and can keep on making our bracelets "new"

One of my male student's at school even has a plain silver Pandora bracelet on. He has it close fitting with no charms and it looks cool.

Chamilia is coming out with a box chain bracelet, to have a more unisex appeal. Cool that dudes are getting into it! I may have to change the way I address the forum, which is usually "hello ladies.."

Regarding the addictive nature of Pandora- I've been giving this some thought. This is all speculation of course, but here are my thoughts:
-
  • The collectible nature implies that you always need more. My fiancé calls himself a "completist" and this is why if he has one particular season on a TV show in DVD, he must have them all!
    - collectibility is heightened when things are limited edition, country-specific, and retired. If it could go away at anytime, I must get it now!!
    - with retirement, perceived (or real) value increases. We see our purchases as not indulgences, but investments.
    - of course the personalized nostalgic totems that we can carry with us. Romanticizing our "transitional objects" if you will is inherently appealing.
    - positive reinforcement. We are cotinually reinforced with purchases (quarter annual promotions) and wearing (comments, compliments), even if subtly, we are very susceptible to positive renforcement!
    - giftability. This kind of goes with the nostalgia point, but how cool is it to keep loved ones' gifts with you at all times?
    - its unending. SOME of us have enough restraint to limit to one bracelet, gifts only, etc., but without self-imposed restrictions, your collection can never really be complete! New items are always coming out and even having duplicates is awesome for symmetry!

Sorry if I nerded out for a minute, but I'm a behavioral therapist by trade and am fascinated by the concept of addiction as it relates to charm bracelets!!

Any other ideas?

⬆oops I forgot to add that I TOTALLY have bought a number of charms °just° because they were about to retire and I might "need" it someday in the future and won't be able to get it! LOL!

e.g. I Bought BOTH retired grape dangle charms because my bf and I were planning on going to wine country. But we didn't. Then we broke up. Now I have a very expensive set of grapes lol

Oh no! Will you wear them or do they make you think of your ex?

Just an observation. Since this new tread was launched on 30th Dec, we have got 18 pages to date over last 6 days. Amazingly fast. I am so so pleased to see a lot of lovely converstaions and beautiful picutures here. It's been lovely. Personally I am so happy & lucky to have met some many lovely ladies who love Pandora here. Let's bring all the lovely pictures on and keep the momentum going!

I find all your thoughts fascinating. I love reading stuff like this, I do find it very interesting and I agree with what you are saying. It's all true. Also, you get a buzz of buying new things. It is an addiction like smoking ad other stuff. Once you start, you can't stop, a bit like Pringles haha

Ah, I guess that would be annoying when your bracelet is clanging everywhere. If you roll it down your arm a bit so it sit a bit tighter, it won't move around and make noise.

Exactly! I forgot the actual act of purchading! Good one! We are exercising our ability to control and decide and design!
We can all be artists!

And oh yeah, I wear the grapes on my color-themed bracelets, no hard feelings; just feeling kinda lame that there's no rhyme or reason to my owning them. I guess "They're retired" is the reason haha

Omg I have to tell you why I have the Yin Yang bead. I thought my (other) ex-bf gave it to me because we were a study in opposites in a lot of ways. My strengths his weaknesses, and vice versa. I thought it was very deep and profound, like he was trying to say we balanced each other in temperament and disposition... Until he explained it more simply, "youre white and I'm black." A bit more literal interpretation, but hey its the gesture that counts

Hi Gaby Love - these are close ups of the front and back (done as medium to retain some of the detail - not sure if this is enough)

Haha, there's an explanation for everything. Perhaps people who are more creative or arty are the ones who like to always buy new charms and build new designs. I am both creative and arty!:smile1:

I try to roll it up and tuck it in my sleeve to be quiet. But true, I must show respect to people's level of tolerance. Actually I am the only one that wears Pandora in my team. Haha.
