About jewel first, I wonder how they get their stuff. Pandora say they were never authorised, and that pandora don't supply them. I placed a couple of orders when I was new to pandora, but both were bad experiences! I wouldn't personally recommend them, and know of countless others who wouldn't, but equally I know many who have ordered frequently and have been very happy with them.

I have suspicions that their merchandise is used. I ordered the anchor charm and bevelled clips. I had a hard time opening and closing one of the clips but it's loosened up. The anchor charm is pretty but I was worried about its authenticity.

I bought the anchor charm as well and it is pristine. I've purchased quite a few pieces from them since I found out about them on this forum. Because everyone said they were authentic, I haven't bothered taking them in to ensure that they are. There were no red flags for me, and the fact they actually have a real address made me think they are legit. Did you take any of your purchases into a Pandora store to find out?

I have always wondered about Pandora's policy requesting jewelry stores to return retired or slow selling merchandise back to them. When slow sellers are languishing in a store the price stays the same but there is no revenue. If they ask for them back they can sell them to merchants like Jewel First or Republic of Jewels and at least make some money off them. In the case of rare and retired charms they can disperse them to authorised online stores and sell them for much more (supply and demand).

The weird thing is, until I found this forum, I was perfectly okay with buying all my Pandora at an authorised retailer, albeit at a much slower rate! I just accepted the fact that Pandora never goes on sale. Then after reading about all the deals people were getting, especially in the UK, I started feeling like I was being taken advantage of, since other countries obviously had sales on Pandora.

I don't know what to do, everyone likes a bargain, but I want to know I am buying authentic pieces. I bought the retired rhino charm off eBay, I am sure it is authentic but will take it in just to be sure, 'cause I paid a heck of a lot more for it than when it was being produced! I wish Pandora would have a retrospective of some of their most desired retired charms and have a limited re-release of them.

Mine is far from pristine. Firstly, I can barely make out the 925 ALE stamp. Secondly, look how uneven the circle is in the second photo. At the core of the charm, the colour is very light, and not at all silver.

I don't want to go into details, but my experiences were not good. I don't want to share other people's stories without permission, all I will say is that I would never recommend them, or guarantee their products.

Republic of jewels are fine, they're authorised. I think they were just being naughty with the 70% sale :D
