is it possible that the bracelet is older? I don't have a barrel clasp or two tone so I don't actually know what it should look like but maybe the girls here that do have older two tone clasps can compare?

It's actually 925 ALE. 925 represents silver. The numbers are probably so small that you're reading it as 585 ALE. :smile1: (ALE is the intials of one of the Pandora founder's father.)

Wikipedia:
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925.

585 = 14k..... that's exactly the way my two tone bracelet is and I bought it at a Pandora store......all the all gold beads from Pandora will have the same markings.......;)

No, she's talking about the gold clasp which has the 585 (for the gold) not 925 (for sterling silver).:smile1:

What did you bid on??? What did you win????? I hope you've updated by the time I'm out of my class tonight!!!!!! Good morning to you!!!!!:smile1:

Just a pink murano and a cz spacer, it's not over for a couple of days. Some fool will probably outbid me at the last minute and end up paying the same as rrp, sorry I'm a bit late with my update! I'm having lunch at work right now.;)

Thanks guys..i don't know what to do at this point.yet and still no response from the seller.its either an old one or an old fake one.the outside gold is worn.i just thought it needed to be clean from the pictures but it was ughh..I posted it on FB and everyone gasped it made things even worse.

Did you buy it on an auction website? If so, what was the title and what was the exact description? Did they say it was old / well used? Did they claim it to be genuine?

My first impression from the photo is that it looks very dull, but I thought perhaps it might just be a dark photo. I can clearly see the stamp though. I don't have gold but the inside of my silver is rough and matt.

Apparently (from googling) a magnet will attach to fakes. Check the bracelet AND clasp with a magnet. If it doesn't stick there's more of a chance its real.

Does the O on the bracelet have a little crown above it?

Yeah a well known auction site, lol.

the title was "Pandora Bracelet with 14k Gold Lock Excellent shape.

I checked their fb beforehand and all the other Pandora auctions said Genuine and they were all positive fb so i thought i was ok...Its really rough in the inside and the box is tiny and it has what looks like the #'s on top then the ALE.Their's not etched on the outside.on the other side its silver with something gold in the middled.on the silver i noticed that part is completely dark.

i did a the gold is pale.DH said it looks very old.I honestly thought i was buying a well loved one.I got over 50 charms and 5 bracelets I've never bought a fake.I guess i messed up buying from someone I knew nothing about.

No, don't panic just yet, it might just be old and preloved, although "excellent shape" does indicate it should be pretty much perfect.

Its only 6am here so maybe my brain isn't working but I don't quite understand what you mean here ...
