You're right - there is less here about the Swing - it may be a less popular style or it may be harder to find in stores, but it is a classic for RM and seems to have been done right the first time - it has remained pretty consistent over time. Those who love the Swing, love the Swing the way others love their MABs or MACS or Nikkis, etc.

Leathers are the same ones used for other styles, so durability and wear will be similar to other styles that use the same materials. You could check some of the color threads to get a sense of the leathers and range of textures, etc across colors and over time. And Zappos, eBags, Amazon, and other RM sellers (Nordstrom.com, Bloomingdales, Saks etc) are all good places to look for user reviews. As you read reviews, keep in mind that some of the leathers and colors change each season and year, so review of a product from a year or two ago (or more) may differ from a more recent one.

My sense from tPFers is that there are very few complaints about RM bags overall. [MINKETTES, PLEASE ADD/ CHANGE/ UPDATE/ CORRECT AS NECESSARY!!] Seems like there have been specific problems with specific styles over time - but those are more isolated and time-limited. To summarize what I've learned so far:
1) the Cupids have had some hardware breakage problems - unclear whether this is by year, by color, or a fluke of the design itself.
2) some of the early MACs had some chain breakage problems, but that seems to have been resolved in pretty short order
3) some of the old-school morning after bags (original size and mini) age differently compared wiith some of the newer ones (mostly the handles) depending on the type of leather used and the way the bags were built early on. Instead of being problems per se, these are some of the unique aspects of the older bags that make them highly prized and well-loved by aficionados.

Hope this helps (you and others). My (biased) opinion is that you really can't go wrong with any of them Good luck - and if you choose to buy one, come back and do a reveal in one of the reveal or action threads. Others will share your excitement! :smile1::smile1:

Hi RM team! I think its pretty safe to say that we minkettes prefer the old style strap on our mams. There is no comparison between having the strap attach to the place it is supposed to, and having to unclip the decorative dogleash clasps to use them for the strap. That is inconvenient and ruins the look of the bag....and I now only buy old mams with the strap that i like. I think we would all be willing to pay the difference if there is a difference in cost.

Thanks so much! Big FAN! :D

^^Yes- I agree^^

Hi ladies!

We are working on sourcing some new Black Patent Quilt leather for you and would love to get your feedback. Rebecca loves this new larger version of the quilt, what do you all think?

The photo is shown with a swatch of the new quilt and the old quilt.

XO - Nicole

Much too late, I'm sure, to weigh in on this, but FWIW, definitely new. Love it.

Thank you so much RG, thanks for taking the time replying ...all those info are very helpful to me. :smile1:
To be honest I can't decide weather I want the swing or I want the Satchel from D&B, I know they are two difference style. Right now I have the MK, I like it a lot, the leather is so durable, I used it everyday the leather still so soft and it doesn't look worn out. A friend of mine got a bag from MbyMJ after me now her bag look so worn out, the black leather is pealing. I don't know what's her leather but I would hate it if that happen to one of my bag.
I appreciated your help, I'll look more into those bag.

You're welcome! I understand being stuck between two choices even when they are completely different styles. I have had D&B (none now) and do have MK and MByMJ, among (too many!) others. Even compared to some of my more expensive bags (Givenchy, Longchamp...) I do like my Minkoffs best. With the different styles, many different leathers, linings and colors, each new combo is interesting in a slightly different way. They are definitely addicting! Good luck and have fun shopping!
