Completely agree with this! I don't follow the trends. In fact, sometimes I'm a little behind. I start out not liking the newest thing and by the time I like it, it's on its way out! But I buy and use what makes my heart sing. When it doesn't do that anymore, I sell it.I don’t think mono bag is a trend. To me, mono is classic LV.
I buy what I like. I am fine to have the same bag with 100 ladies on the same street. That is how I feel about neverfull. I know everyone has one. This tote is very comfortable. I am sure 100 other ladies also thinking the same, not just following the trend.
As long as I like the bag, I will get it. Sometimes for some reasons, I sold my bag but when I miss, I will repurchase. Buy-bored-sold-repurchase-fall in love again. That’s the circle of my life.![]()
Please can I pick your brains.
By chance I got my hands on The Papillon trunk in Selfridges over the weekend. Majority of my bags are in monogram canvas…should I add this to my collection or not. The reason I am conflicted about this is because I could add a bit more and get Chanel mini (preloved of course) instead. The differential is not huge as Chanel is preloved. Of course I can’t keep both. What would you choose? Thank you….your suggestions and comments have been most useful.
BTW about my collection-
chanel- I have a VERY vintage chanel flap (more like battered) in black from 80s and a Chanel jumbo in black with big CC in vertical quilt.
LV- Pochette metis in mono, Neonoe in mono, MPA in mono, GO TP26

Thank you for your honest and transparent response. Appreciate it.For me personally - and this won't be a popular response here - I sold all of my LV brown monogram bags. I personally have moved away from overt monograms on anything. I have an empriente noir Montaigne and a capucines and other LV bags but all are more subtle than the brown monogram ones I sold. Only LV canvas bag I have left is my Damier Azur neverfull. I felt really conspicuous when I carried the brown monogram bags and I live in an area where a lot of women carry Louis Vuitton and mostly the brown monogram. It just wasn't for me anymore. Maybe that will change again in the future but that is just where I am at right now.
This is difficult to decide. Does one of them make your heart sing more than the other? Does one fill a gap in your collection? Please can I pick your brains.

Good question. I have wanted a red bag. Thanks. This is difficult to decide. Does one of them make your heart sing more than the other? Does one fill a gap in your collection?
Very well said! So true.style begins where trends end at the soonest. i wouldn't worry and follow your personal ideal and preference.
Kodi-
True. I think the LV canvas is amazing and timeless as it has been around for so long. DE is tricky print IMO and looks good only on certain pieces such as the popular Alma.I only buy the monogram! I have 6 purses, 3 SLGs, and a scarf. Only thing DE is a bracelet I was gifted. I know the monogram often has a reputation of being tacky or cheugy (lol) but I really love it so don't care at all! Whenever people hate on something that is hyper popular, I always just think, yeah, it's popular for a reason... because it's nice Lol!
Recently, I have noticed that a lot if influencers are selling their LV pieces particularly in monogram. I love my monogram pieces…and would be distraught if its ‘out of trend’ or worse if viewed as tacky.
What are your thoughts? Is it time to sell LV mono pieces.
