The monogram out of style?

It’s been almost 25 years since I got my first LV piece. This topic comes up time and time again on tPF.

The monogram comes and goes, that’s for sure. It never completely goes away. But I think this time, thanks to social media and their current sales strategy (everything is limited and skyrocketing prices), LV is here to stay for a while. Unless the stock market crashes… that usually dampens conspicuous consumption and LV along with it. So who knows?

That’s my hot take.

Do you think monogram is going out of style with price increase and less inventory it seems they want to be more higher end like chanel with leather etc. I’m thinking for buying this and not sure if I should not and hold out for something else. Love to hear other people thoughts.

I don't think so. The majority of my collection are mono bags and I will continue to buy canvas for styles I like…I would get this style if I didn’t already have the turenne and Rivoli which are both very similar in style…I miss their old empreinte styles but I’m not drawn to the new styles with the giant logo. I feel like their bags are getting repetitive in style. I have been buying the men’s bags recently and find they have a lot more variety..

Monogram is timeless. At least for me.

I also think the Boetie is very cute. I got the Rivoli which is similar style otherwise I would get it as well. I think monogram canvas is timeless and that style is functional with the zipper and crossbody strap.

I definitely think LV monogram is timeless, as well, as others have mentioned. It's not like Michael Kors where it's a new design, LV has been around for over a century and the story itself is timeless. I'll always prefer monogram to LV's leather design.
