Ladies i wanna dye her black! What do you think! I already ordered leather stain in black and the leather sheen from amazon. I heard its easier to use than resolene hehe
The bag looks like in really good shape, depends on how much you paid for because once you dye it you may risk not be able to resell it or possibility of ruin it. On the other hand, it is your bag, do whatever you like, please keep us posted :)

I think it will look great- I didn't have the nerve to do it myself but I hear it's not too difficult! Please keep us updated- :)

I will practice on an old leather wallet that i have. I hope everything will be ok. If i ruin it, i know a good place that can dye it for me. Hahaha. U made me buy a preloved alma for this lol. But now that i ve realized how lovely the alma is compared to any other bag that i own, i will buy the damier ebene brand new. I will keep this mono though so i have both prints.

I agree with @onlyk that leather seems to be in great shape to dye.. Usually people seem to do it if they can't save it. But depending on if you want them or not of course.

Mean while.. Now I'm cruising the vintage Chanel thread.. And after watching DIY on refurbishing I'm amped up to try.. Unfortunately for Chanel even vintages are over thousand dollars to start with.. Where with LV I feel like it's more price friendly to try to commit to save them..

Despite having treated it with Obenauf, my all vachetta speedy got caught in a heavy rain a few days ago and it shows water marks. I know they will blend in the patina eventually, but is there a way to make them less visible now? I know my bag isn't ruined but all those little dots annoy me a little.
Thanks!

From my own experience, better not to retouch it.

Do you mean not to put anything on it? I have cleaned it with Lexol and treated again with Obenauf, did I make a mess in your opinion? It doesn't look worse, some spots are less visible but they aren't completely gone
Is the leather now a bit darker than before?

Also from my experience, some leather lotions would change the vachette leather or any kind of "raw leather", I don't know how to accurately describe it, but it's like two different kind of leather. I don't know much about the products you are using though. As long as you are happy with the result, then it works for you.

Yes the leather has darkened but I'm happy with that, only the spots are still visible. I must be the only one that prefers a darker vachetta than a pristine one.
As for the magic eraser...I'm a bit reluctant. Do you wet it then use it on the bag? I have a full vachetta speedy, I don't only have vachetta handles, I'm afraid to make a huge mess.

Actually i used baby shampoo with it and scrubbed with magic eraser. I saw the dirt coming off. The spots are gone too. Im sure i can scrub more but i dont wanna stress the leather too much. Actually i used the apple conditioner on a deauville. It was really nice, no spots, nothing. I just wanted to condition the leather. Then when it dried, it was much darker than before [emoji17]
