Great results! After I commented on your post yesterday I thought I'd take a chance myself with some Apple conditioner that I had already. It seemed to do exactly what you described. Sort of blended the marks in and didn't settle in funny at all. The color looks like a deeper version of what had already been there with a nice luster. I'm excited to use this bag! Just waiting on a new drawstring as the one that it came with was super dry and flakey. Don't know how I will get the new drawstring to catch up with the patina. Here's the base of my Noe before and after.

What a difference!!! That's just with the apple conditioner??

I also bought a preloved Noe.. While I waited for the new draw string to arrive from Louis, I bought this: ImageUploadedByPurseForum1462113734.335065.jpg
Now I have both, and I've decided to keep the glove lace on since it matches the patina better.

Thank you all! I'm loving this bag more than I thought I would. I had originally intended for it to be my throw around bag but it turned out so nice I couldn't do that. I did do a little more than just Apple. I cleaned the bag with Lovin' My Bags vachetta cleanser and a magic eraser. I did several light cleanings over 2 days, letting dry between then did a couple applications of Apple then buffed with a dry cloth. These vintage bags sure are made to last. The canvas is something different altogether. I'm so glad to have this classic!

Hi all!

I just bought a pre-owned Babylone GM, it is in fabulous shape EXCEPT, there's a mold inside the inner zipper pocket. Really bad black slime, could be midlew but no odor. Bought it from a humid location on eBay, should have known there was a risk, damage was disclosed as 'stained and sticky' but I'd rather rescue the bag than return it, it was not pricey

So I'm going to try (since the interior is leather and I plan to keep this for work forevah) to try the Magic Eraser solution on the stuff, which jus spreads when you try to wipe it, damaging the surface of the leather. WIll post before and after pics when I do it (It's at the office right now). I had emailed LV but I am embarassed to go into the store, it is so gross, you know? And I don't know how the treat people who buy used bags. In fact, I've never been in an LV store, not a posh girl!

IF you have tips, I'd love to read them, otherwise I will pop back within the week with news - wish me luck!

I haven't had to deal with this but imho I would say put on a glove and wipe/pull as much of it as you can off of the leather. Then clean it with the magic eraser. I feel as though you'll get better results that way. I wonder how mold grew in there....

If there is not a smell, it might not be mold. Some of the old type lining fabric in the pockets breaks down after a time in humid climates. This happened in my Trocadero and my Jeune Fille. I had success cleaning the sticky pocket of my Bucket Bag Pochette but the pockets of my Jeune Fille and my Trocadero-no luck. I ended up just using an Exacto Knife and taking out the lining.
The rest of the bag was in fabulous shape and didn't need repair.

You might search for sticky pockets and see what comes up.
Some members have had success with Simple Green and Goo Gone. Goo Gone didn't work for me when I tried it.

You were right! I thought the pocket was leather but it was fabric and in the end I cut it out and scrubbed the interior with a soapy, bleachy cloth

It is going to be FAB! I Paid $285 US for this bag, it is authentic and it is the older style and will be FABULOUS as a sort of briefcase/shoulder bag for work!

I AM STOKED!

I am going to have to source Apple conditioner to treat the leather trim (don't know the correct term for that) as it is a little water stained or something but other wise it is now in absolutely perfect usable condition ex the fabric pocket!

Yahooo!!!!!

I'm glad you were able to clean it up. Show us a picture.

I purchased Cadillac conditioner from Nordstrom online. I used it to hydrate the vachetta on my preloved keepall 45. I used magic eraser first then conditioned. It took the dirt off and the handles are a beautiful honey color. I used the conditioner on the coated canvas and it really shined it up too. Metal polish took care of the brass hardware, although it was tricky with the rings on the straps and the zipper. I didn't have the patience to use a q-tip so there are a few stains near the zipper...but the zipper is shiny and it doesn't really bother me. I'm hooked on preloved classic pieces!
