I am very excited to join this thread as I absolutely love DIY projects.
I just received my Marly Dragonne clutch and have started the rejuvenation process. Here she is with a shinier zipper.
Nice! How did you make the zipper shine without disturbing the canvas?
Scraping with kitchen sponge (sharp side) and then thoroughly use a vacuum cleaner.
I just wanted to thank you for the recommendation, it worked perfectly. I'm so happy with the results. Thanks again

I want to purchase a bucket gm in pretty good shape. is it a great bag? I'm a tote junkie so I'm wondering if I should buy one as I don't buy preloved often. so I guess my question would be is it worth it???

I think if you don't buy preloved too often, I would try to find one without sticky lining. Unless you like project bags, it is very time intensive to clean out the Vuittonite yourself and it might be too overwhelming for some. It is not hard to find a nice bucket for cheap because they have a low resale value (due to it being a discontinued model and the fact that it is not a popular style bag). I paid only $269 for mine and it had a nice honey patina and no stickiness.
As to whether a bucket is worth it...well, I guess it depends on whom you ask. A lot of people dislike the shape and the wide bottom is kinda awkward to get used to. And like someone mentioned before, it's not really a tote. I feel like it's more of a long purse, and things sometimes get lost in the bottom a little too often. You might find it to be too narrow at first if you are used to carrying tote bags. I have the large and petit bucket, and I love both of them, especially the large one. I think the large is too small for travel (at least for me), but it makes a great work/shopping bag.
The biggest concern on the buckets is the lining. If it isn't peeling and sticky, it likely will be. I just got a pre loved GM Bucket and have scrubbed out all the sticky in both the bag and the pochette. I plan on taking it out tomorrow. It seems like a great bag, but it doesn't feel like a tote to me. I like that it is more vertical than my other bags.

Thanks! It's been on my radar for quite sometime now and my friend has one but she has abused hers so I'd buy one elsewhere. I was thinking its a tote but it's not. I think I'm still interested in one though as I like how long it is. I was looking at buying one for the $500-$600 mark so I'm hoping it would be in somewhat decent shape for that price. Does anyone remember how much it was new?
Can you please post a modelling pic of the gm bucket so I can see it? Thank you
