Try gently massaging the interior lining with scent-free water-based baby wipes; they're lightly damp so they won't saturate the cloth but will still do the trick. My concern with detergent-based cleaners, such as the Tide pen, is that they leave behind residue which will show up against that raspberry colour. Afterwards softly brush the fabric with a toothbrush to fluff the fibres back up and help ensures it properly air dries.

Fabulous!!! That does sound a little easier, although no idea what a Tide pen is? lol would a water based baby Johnson wipe do?
The part with the toothbrush sounds fun, I'd say after doing that is really see some results. [emoji4] oohh yay can't wait to try it, and ideas on drying? Like the baby wipe will make it damp so would a towel do it to get the heavy damp out then leave over night before brushing? Or am I being a little ocd? [emoji1]

looks fantastic! i'm curious to know how you cleaned your handles? they really look good

Hi :)
I just clean the handle with baby wipes.
I wipe it down a lot. That's a lot of brown residue. I wipe it until the wipe turn to be light colour. It was like coffee colour at first.
However, I believe it does dry it out a little. But I am ok with it. I just apply black rock after that. :)

Ok good to know! Thanks!!!

You can only use the brass polish on solid brass hardware to restore the gold shine. Unfortunately not all LV hardware are solid brass. If you see the gold wearing/chipping off and revealing silver underneath, it means that hardware was plated. Using the brass polisher will strip off all the gold colour leaving it silver. I'm not sure which LV items use solid brass and which don't..sorry about that.
Thank you, dear! :)

The baby wipe, a Johnson wipe will do so long as the key words "Unscented" and "Alcohol-free" are on the package, is just damp enough to clean without saturating the material and then just leave the bag open and empty to air dry for at least a day/24 hours. I personally wouldn't use a hair dryer or put a towel inside to speed things up, instead have a fan on to help circulate the air.

So after a not very good experience sending a wallet to LV repair for reglazing, I decided to try and fix the glazing on my vintage epi speedy 25 handles.

Did some research and bought a bottle of Edge Kote (you can get it on amazon, eBay or etsy).

Here's the outcome :)

Before:
You can see the glazing on the handle is dry and cracked all over. It's the same for both handles.

During:
Using Flebing's Edge Kote in black
Some tissue and lots of cotton buds
A very fine nail file (because I didn't have a fine grit sandpaper)

Basic process: 1. Sand/file the glazing (you will notice some of the major cracks disappearing. 2. Apply 2-3 coats of Edge Kote (let it dry between coats). 3. Sand/file again if there are still cracks. 4. Finish with another 2-3 coats of Edge Kote.

FYI my handle's glazing had pretty bad cracks. It took about 3 rounds of filing/sanding to get most of the cracks to be as superficial as possible. In total I would say each handle had about 9 coats of Edge Kote, 3 rounds of filing/sanding.

Final result:

Of course, I'm no pro so the cracks are not 100% gone. Some cracks are gone, some are still there but much more fine/shallow. Overall happy with the outcome. :)
