My new to me speedy 30... It is currently at The LV store in Saks and I requested it get the full replacement of her leathers for $630 (this was a snap decision with no research... Shaaaame, I know!)
However, given that she is from '92, I did not want the date code removed and he is to find out if that is possible
Think I should opt for handle replacement only ($140) or for both handle and chape replacement ($280)?
Piping is $210 and both tabs are $140, zipper pull is free
The chapes look pretty good and the piping doesn't look terrible but I believe he said if they do piping they also have to do the tabs... Think the tabs could dress up with the LMB and be ready for the party? :)

OMG That it is so exciting! Please share the result with us. :smile1: I am sure it will turn out fantastic. :smile1: So cool she will be like new but with the beautiful canvas from the 90s. Thats awesome.

New pouch with a sticky interior.
I used dry masking tape wrapped around fingers and just kept pulling the sticky plasticky liner off. Easy dry job! Problem now is that the flannel type lining left is sticky too! Any ideas?

Hi, great idea with the tape! For the remainder of the stickiness, see my post on page 31 #455  not sure about your Monceau though I'm afraid, hopefully someone knows or do a search on the forum perhaps, lots of subjects have been covered over the years, gl

She looks to be a beauty! I'm such a vintage lover that I always try to 'fix' the problems first (within reason!) and then see what else can be done.....but not everyone is comfortable trying to do that and I totally understand.
I'm sure your bag will turn out fabulously!
Congrats!
I'm wishing now that I had found this forum prior to my trip to Saks...
My SA guaranteed they will retain the original date code when they replace everything. Think they will also give me a tab that says made in France? (Since according to the date code that is where it was made...)?

My posts start at #318...
I lost the date codes in all my Pouchettes but I get to use it. It was a massive rehab but worth it to me.
Good luck on your rehab!

Hi I'm waiting for my first Louis that I just ordered of Ebay. It is in pretty bad nick and will need lots off repairing but I am SO chuffed. Its a Vintage Keepall Louis Vuitton 55 Bandoulière. As im not very rich and can only do the minimum I would like your help to find the best way to go about this. I also am looking for a schoulderstrap , would anyone know where to get a worn, vintage , schoulderstrap from? I have had a recommendation for a dry cleaner/resorer in Wigan UK. Does anyone know if they are good/well priced? Thanks a lot
I know I'm a patina extremist but this is just lovely to me as is! Great buy!

I recently bought this beautiful black GM epi noe. It's 20 years old and tgere is not a mark on her! I've cleaned and moisturized the lesther and cleaned and used brasso on the hardware. Will the hardware ever get nice and shiny? I'm just wondering if I should keep working on it or if it's as good as it gets. It is brass. Not gold like the newer hardware.

I use a product called Neverdull , it comes in a can.
It cleans metal, so you can use it on brass I use it on my bags. Be careful, I try not to get it on the canvas, or leather.
Mine looks like this, bought it at Walmart.

She's beautiful as is! I think the original brass has so much elegant distinction without being overly shiny that'd I just enjoy her.

Wow! That's a gorgeous Noe, I agree that she's beautiful as she is too. My speedy 35 has been shined up too and I wondered if I could improve the brass any more but then I decided that she looks perfect right now. I used brasso on the zipper pull, zipper, and rivets....and the lock and key. I'll be posting my photos soon but she looks ever so much better than she did.
