I found a product called Gonzo stain remover that worked like magic when used on a cotton ball.

A few swipes on each spot and the sticky black gunk is gone🎉

Pocket is clean and once again useable.

Went into the LV store at the Royal Exchange in London yesterday to get a quote for how much it'll cost to replace the handles for my Sonatine. I was quoted £200, more than what I would have liked to pay.

I think I'm going to go ahead with it anyways, since I've just found out baby #2 is going to be a girl (#1 is a boy). By the time I gift it on, it'll be well and truly vintage (plus it has already been discontinued)!

I have a Speedy 35 that I got in trade for another bag. Body-wise, it's in great shape (no rips/tears). Missing the fob on the zipper and half of tab.I Cleaned the body with a Cleaner and Rinse from "The Leather Doctor". It was pretty filthy. The handles need to be cleaned as well but will take more time. Will show you my progress.

Looks great! I think the zipper pull replacement is relatively inexpensive so that may be worth checking out. Are the handles just dirty or is the leather slightly cracked?

I have a 1984 Speedy 35 and the handles are a little cracked and dehydrated ... My SA told me that even though LV doesn't have a leather conditioner that the Coach one is really good...she told me to condition, condition, condition...she also told me that the zipper pull can be replaced while a waited,...but I haven't taken the bag to her yet...

Hi Ladies! I am considering purchasing a bag on EBay from a seller in Japan. I've seen many listings with sticky pockets because of their moist climate, but this item is described to have sticky HANDLES. The pics show black dots on the vachetta handles, luggage tag and some trim. Do you think this is mold? The rest of the bag looks beautiful, so if I could clean the black spots off I think I'd love the bag. How would you recommend cleaning the mold off Vacheta? Magic eraser? Gonzo? Do you think it will come off or do you think the handles will still be discolored?
