I recently rescued my pochette from myself - I've had this bag for about 4 years now and it's always been my go to 'throw it in and run' kind of thing. Parks. Beach. Whatever. So I just didn't really take care of it. Well... my daughter put her candy in my bag the other day and needless to say it got the scrub down of a lifetime. I'm very pleased with how it came out. I just used water, a toddler (soft bristle) toothbrush, a more firm cleaning brush, and Zote (Mexican laundry soap bar - I use this as well on my makeup brushes and it works amazing) I pressed the lining between the towel many times to squeeze out any excess water and prevent stretching.
I have before, during and after pics!

Sorry for the yellowness of the pics!

Anyway. What do ya'll think?

Great job! It’s like new again!

Did you do anything to protect the leather tab after getting it wet?

I cleaned it separately with a gentle wipe and then let it dry and conditioned and protected the leather the night prior to doing any washing! It's all dried now and there has been no stretching in the canvas, and the interior still has a lovely firm shape - I actually don't think I'll do the zipper fabric again as it's dried quite nicely! And the vachetta still has a nice honeyed patina so I guess it worked out well. I've seen some throw their canvas in the washer but I couldn't bring myself do that, lol.
Highly recommend the Zote soap :)

Well done! That was brave of you! I’ve washed an Azur cles in the washing machine before as it has no vachetta, the zipper came out much whiter than before. I worry about the vachetta becoming dry later on after getting so wet.

since the strap is detachable and it was just that small tag I felt like it was worth the risk - this is a bag I use all the time for everything and I'll have it until it falls apart... I definitely reconditioned it after it dried from the wetness though and I think it'll be okay :) I mean it's so used the lV stamping is pretty faded anyway.

Hello everyone, I just purchased this preloved Tivoli Pm, and it has some black stains inside of the bag. Would someone teach me how to clean them? Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to post some pics of a repair I did today on my Metis Hobo. Had a hole
In corner and got brave after watching you tube video and purchased 3m vinyl/leather repair. I was very nervous to try this because it involves heat but I am so pleased with results. It's not perfect but it looks a lot better and hopefully won't tear any further. The top picture is the after..lol, had some trouble getting both to post.
Wow!

Hi! I won this speedy from an eBay auction (Japan seller) and honestly didn't zoom in enough to see this particular photo [emoji20] Do these white marks look like canvas peeling? Help! Haven't paid yet but since I won already looks like I have no choice.

If peeling, is it something that can be repaired?

Thanks in advance [emoji173]️View attachment 4196003

The white marks don’t look like canvas peeling to me.

I recently got a azur speedy 30 from 2006 courtesy of vintageorder on ebay and the vachetta is dry, hard and brittle. How do I (or can I) restore moisture to the leather? It's gotten leather conditioner twice a day since Friday and the piping especially isn't feeling any softer (handles feel alright). I fear the piping's a lost cause but with a small crack in the canvas, LV probably won't touch it. :( I've used Apple conditioner, Meltonian, and a few other leather conditioners.

Those are the right products, for sure. I've had decent luck with them, but sometimes when the leather is too dry, then it's just done for good and needs to be replaced. If LV won't do it because of the canvas crack, then you can try another good cobbler.
